INNOVATION - Innovation is defined as the process of bringing about new ideas, methods,
products, services, or solutions that have a significant positive impact and value. It involves
transforming creative concepts into tangible outcomes that improve efficiency, and effectiveness,
or address unmet needs.
TECHNOLOGY – when we hear technology we often think of, devices, computers, inventions,
apparatus, tools, equipment’s, mechanisms. What else? Networking components, software and
hardware.
SCIENCE – the systematic study of structure and behavior of the physical and natural world
through observation, inventions and experimentation.
RESEARCH - Research is defined as the creation of new knowledge and/or the use of existing
knowledge in a new and creative way so as to generate new concepts, methodologies and
understandings. This could include synthesis and analysis of previous research to the extent that
it leads to new and creative outcomes.
ELECTRONIC - Electronic is used to refer to equipment, such as television sets, computers,
etc, in which the current is controlled by transistors, valves, and similar components and also to
the components themselves.
EXAMPLES: Calculators, digital watches, mobile phones, laptops, and computers are some of
the essential devices that we use in our daily lives. Apart from these devices, we use appliances
like television, refrigerators, air conditioners, micro ovens, mixers, blenders, grinders, and many
more.
TRANSFER - Transfer can also be a noun that means the act of moving something from one
form or location to another, so that money that was shifted from one account to another is
considered a transfer. If you change something from one form to another, you can say that you
transferred it.
GLOBALIZATION - is a term used to describe how trade and technology have made the world
into a more connected and interdependent place. Globalization also captures in its scope the
economic and social changes that have come about as a result. or the connection and
socialization across the world.
DEVICE - device refers to an electronic or mechanical tool designed to perform specific
functions, typically within the areas of technology, computing, programming, and
communications. Devices come in various forms and sizes, from smartphones and computers to
wearable’s and home appliances.
SOFTWARE - Software is a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate computers and
execute specific tasks. It is the opposite of hardware, which describes the physical aspects of a
computer. Software is a generic term used to refer to applications, scripts and programs that run
on a device.
CONNECTION - connection means a connection provided by an Internet Service Provider that
enables individual computers or other hardware components, either individually or registered
within a Local Area Network, to exchange Data over the public Internet.
ONLINE - You are connected to the internet, you are able to connect with other people through
any of the social media as long as you are connected to internet. That’s what we call we are
online.
APPS - is a piece of software that bundles together certain features in a way that is accessible to
a user. EXAMPLE: Facebook, integral, tiktok, twitter, and whatever social media you use for
your specific purpose.
DOWNLOAD - Downloading is the transmission of a file or data from one computer to
another over a network, usually from a larger server to a user device. Download can refer to
the general transfer of data or to transferring a specific file. It can also be called to download, DL
or D/L. All internet use requires downloading data.
WIRELESS - Wireless communication is the transfer of information (telecommunication)
between two or more points without the use of an electrical conductor. EXAMPLES : wireless
microphone, ----- Wireless means transmitting signals over invisible radio waves instead of
wires. Garage door openers and television remote controls were the first wireless devices to
become a part of everyday life. Now the cordless keyboard and mouse, PDAs, and digital
and cellular phones are commonplace.
COMPUTER - Computer is a device that accepts information (in the form of digitalized data)
and manipulates it for some result based on a program, software, or sequence of instructions on
how the data is to be processed.
GLOBAL - It talks or relates about the whole world. It involves the global system of
communication. Global economic problems. global warfare.
INTERNET –
Internet is a global communication system that links together thousands of individual
networks. It allows exchange of information between two or more computers on a
network. Thus internet helps in transfer of messages through mail, chat, video & audio
conference, etc.
The Internet carries many applications and services, most prominently the World Wide
Web, including social media, electronic mail, mobile applications, multiplayer online
games, Internet telephony, file sharing, and streaming media services.
PHONE – THERE ARE TWO CATEGORIES OF PHONE
Mobile phone Wireless handheld device that can make and receive calls among other
features. A portable device also known as cellular phone (cell phone) or hand phone with
services that enable users to make and receive calls and send and receive text messages.
cellular telephone systems or global satellite-based telephony - Cellular
telephones use a combination of low-powered radio transmitters and receivers
(transceivers) to provide voice and data telephone service to mobile users. They include
small antennas and work by transmitting information to cellular towers which cover a
given area or cell.
COMMUNICATING – the act of share information with others by speaking, writing, moving
your body, or using other signals: communicate with We can now communicate instantly with
people on the other side of the world.
MEDIA - the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, magazines, and the
internet, that reach or influence people widely: The media are covering the speech tonight.
VIRTUAL - In computing or in technical term, virtual refers to a digitally replicated version of
something real, whether it's a machine, a switch, memory or even reality. It is distinguished from
the real by the fact that it lacks an absolute, physical form.
USER - A person who uses or operates something, especially a computer or other machine.
NETWORKING –
NETWORKING TECHNICALLY – or as what we call computer networking, is the
practice of transporting and exchanging data between nodes over a shared medium in an
information system.
NETWORKING IN REAL LIFE - The purpose of networking is to make new
relationships and foster existing ones. These can be via friendships, industry
acquaintances, and even business partners. Through these new relationships, you can
make progress on your career path quickly.
