6. Read the passage below carefully and the answer the questions that follows. (10 marks)
Democracy is a system of leadership whereby all people participate in the decision making. Or a
leadership system that draws its legitimacy from the people. The broadening of democracy in a
particular country can be realized through presence of the following democratic principles such as
presence of independent national electoral commission, free and fair election, peaceful
demonstration and existence of multiparty politics. On the other hand, to undemocratic state
citizens are not entertaining those principles of democracy but people experiencing issues such as
absence of freedom of expression, infringements of human rights and absence of freedom
assembly.
Therefore, democracy has a lot of advantages includes the following; it promotes human rights, it
enhances accountability among the leaders, it gives people right to elect leaders of their choice
