Catnip blanket

Please enjoy this beautiful lightweight lace

blanket pattern. I designed this as a blanket
for my cat, but this blanket would also be
great as a baby blanket. The pattern can
easily be changed in size by switching yarn or
needles, or adding/removing repeats of the
lace pattern. The border is made by a simple
moss stitch, but a garter stitch border or any
other type of border would look great as
well.

YARN
275 grams (6 skeins of 50 grams) of
DROPS Nord in the colour forest green.

NEEDLES
3mm straight or circular needles
Stitch markers if preferred
Tapestry needle to weave in ends

GAUGE
21x27 stitches = 10x10cm in lace pattern, blocked. Gauge is not crucial for this pattern, but
please keep in mind that during blocking this pattern will stretch more width-wise compared to
length-wise.

SIZE AFTER BLOCKING

Width = 91 cm
Length = 91cm

ABBREVIATIONS

ssk slip 2 stitches as to knit, insert

WS wrong side of work

INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are given to create a square blanket of 91x91cm. If you want a smaller or
larger blanket, you can change the amount of lace repeats.

Lower border
Cast on 207 (14 repeats of lace pattern (14sts) + 1, + 10 for the border) stitches.
Row 1 (RS): k1, *p1, k1* repeat until end.
Row 2 (WS): p1, *k1, p1* repeat until end.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 another 4 times.

Begin lace pattern

Follow the chart or written instructions below to knit the lace pattern. The borders are marked
between brackets so it’s easier to distinguish from the lace pattern.
