Tree List: (2024)

In order to make calculations and simulations more efficient, the original user-entered trees are manipulated so that similar trees are lumped into single records. The new
tree list is for the entire stand and individual tree records can no longer be attributed to plots. The new trees retain their tree numbers through treatments and future growth
cycles, making it easier to follow the fate of individual trees through the simulation process.

Non-native Invasive Species

Nonnative invasive (NNIS) species may interfere with management goals and thus require careful assessment of their current extent within the stand and in neighboring
stands if possible. It is of critical importance to understand the current/potential impacts of nonnative species prior to any operations in the stand. Specific treatment
options should consider the difficulty of control of each species as well as the economic, aesthetic, and ecological value of the areas currently or likely to be infested by
nonnative invasive species.

Prescription Description

Overstory Treatment Description

A Preparatory Cut is the first harvest of a 3-stage shelterwood sequence. The objective is to remove undesirable species, seed sources of aggressive competitors, and
poorly formed stems; thereby providing more growing space for desirable trees that will produce the seed that eventually regenerates the stand. Harvest trees from
suppressed, intermediate, and weak co-dominant crown positions until the relative density reaches approximately 70 percent. Do not harvest desirable trees that are likely
good seed producers or create large gaps in the main canopy. With these constraints, this cut may or may not be commercial depending on local markets. In noncommercial
situations, this treatment often is accomplished with an individual-stem herbicide technique.

Non-native Invasive Species Description

Autumn olive was reported in the understory on 1 plot. Can form thick cover in open areas. Does not readily invade dense forests.

Treatment Description with Marking Instructions

SILVAH has recommended a Shelterwood Prep. Cut, Re-evaluate in 5 years.

Yields
A combined sawlog/pulpwood sale will yield 7840 bdft. (International 1/4 inch) and 6 cords.
A sawlog-only sale will yield 7840 bdft. (International 1/4 inch).
A pulpwood-only sale will yield 18 cords.

About 0% of the basal area harvested (62 sq.ft.) will be UGS. This will result in removal of about 0% of the UGS in this stand, and 0% of the merchantable-size UGS.

Cut Guides
Reduce relative stand density to 45%. Within the size and quality constraints below, favor the best trees wherever possible. Try to preserve seed sources of scarce species
if they are desired in the regeneration, and strive for uniform spacing among residuals whenever possible.

Cut 1 out of 3 trees in the pole size class.

Cut 3 out of 5 trees in the small sawtimber size class.
Cut 1 out of 6 trees in the medium sawtimber size class.

Leave Guides
Leave 70 sq.ft. of basal area per acre using the basal area distribution below.
