Class 9 Science SEA Activity
Class 9 Science SEA Activity
Activity 1:
Poster Presentation - Importance of Gravitational Force in Daily Life
Objective:
Create a poster that demonstrates the significance of gravity in various
everyday activities.
Instructions:
To design a creative poster that highlights the role of gravity in daily life.
Suggested examples include:
Falling objects
Planetary motion
Ocean tides
Satellite launches
Water flow
Effects of gravity in sports, like projectile motion in basketball or soccer,
to incorporate real-life applications to make their posters relatable.
Activity 2:
Creative Writing - The Journey of a Water Molecule
Objective:
Understand the water cycle by creatively describing the journey of a
water molecule.
Instructions:
Write a story that narrates the journey of a water molecule through
stages like evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.
Use scientific terminology in an engaging, imaginative way.
Illustrations should accompany the story to enhance the narrative.
Activity 3:
Bio-Art - Cell Structure
Objective:
Understand the structure and functions of plant and animal cells.
Instructions:
Draw a colourful, neat and labelled diagram of either a plant or animal
cell.
Label each organelle (e.g., nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts) and add
a brief description of its function.
Include a written comparison of plant and animal cells to highlight
similarities and differences.
Activity 4:
Mini Project - Energy Transformations Around Us
Objective:
Explore and document examples of energy transformations in daily life.
Instructions:
Identify and document at least three examples of energy conversions,
such as:
Torch: Chemical energy to light energy
Fan: Electrical energy to kinetic energy
Car engine: Chemical energy to mechanical energy
Represent these examples in a table or flowchart.
Briefly explain how energy conservation principles apply to each
example.
Activity 5:
Diagram: Types of Animal Tissues
Objective:
Illustrate the classification and structure of animal tissues.
Instructions:
Divide the A4 sheet into four sections, one for each type of animal
tissue:
Epithelial: Show a simple squamous or columnar epithelial tissue.
Connective: Draw a bone or blood cell structure.
Muscular: Illustrate skeletal, smooth, or cardiac muscle tissue.
Nervous: Depict a neuron with its parts (dendrites, axon, cell body).
Label all parts accurately and provide a brief note about each tissue's
function.
Use colored pencils or markers to enhance the diagrams.
Activity 6:
Flowchart: Changes in States of Matter
Objective: Illustrate the processes involved in changes of state.
Instructions:
Draw a flowchart on the A4 sheet showing transitions between states of
matter:
Solid to Liquid: Melting.
Liquid to Gas: Evaporation/Boiling.
Gas to Liquid: Condensation.
Liquid to Solid: Freezing.
Solid to Gas: Sublimation.
Use arrows to show the direction of change and label the processes.
Add small drawings or symbols for each state (e.g., an ice cube, water
droplets, steam).
Activity 7:
Visual Periodic Table Chart
Objective: Write and organize the first 20 elements of the periodic table
with their atomic numbers and atomic masses.
Instructions:
Divide the A4 Sheet:
Use a grid format with 5 rows and 4 columns.
Each box will represent one element.
Fill in Details:
Write the element's symbol prominently in the center of each box.
Below the symbol, include its name, atomic number, and atomic mass
(rounded to two decimal points).
Add Colors:
Use different colors to highlight element groups (e.g., alkali metals,
noble gases, etc.).
Example: Hydrogen in yellow, noble gases in blue, halogens in green, etc.
Include a Key:
On a separate area of the sheet, explain your color-coding system.
Decorative Borders:
Add a border with science-themed doodles (e.g., atoms, test tubes) to
make it visually appealing.
