About Plant: - Combined Cycle Power Groups, with a total net capacity of 2000 MW, Water production
with a net capacity of 130 MIGD consisting of 12 multi effect distillation (MED's) and reverse osmosis
(RO) trains. Five GT26 gas turbines, Three Back Pressure Steam Turbine, Five Single-pressure HRSGs all
equipped with supplementary firing. Five + One air cooled generators for the GT’s/ST and Two H2
cooled generator for the ST’s.

Expertise In:

Static starting device [D3.1]:- Successfully completed the in house training from Converteam [GE]
Germany on following topics,
 Basics of Current Source inverter and Power generator Controls.
 Feedback control structure.
 Hardware and Print Boards.
 Startup sequence and interlock.

Motorized operating Valve: -

Successfully completed the AUMA Product training of Multi turn/Part Turn Actuators, With
Controls Aumamatic and Aumatic in Freiburg, Germany.
Hands on working experience in troubleshooting the various makes of MOV such as: - AUMA, ROTORK,
DREHMO, BERNARD, and KEYSTONE.

TESTING OF PROTECTION RELAYS:

Setting up Omicron for Static and Advanced Microprocessor based numerical relays including,
 SIEMENS: 7SD610, 7SJ611, 7VE632, 7VE611, 7UT630, 7UT613, 7UM622, 7UM612 AREVA
RELAYS: MiCOM-P112,P143,P542, MiCOM-P543
 Injecting the secondary current as per protection settings for different types of protection used
in Mi-Com and Siemens Relays.
 Using SIEMENS-DIGSI / Mi-Com S1 Studio Software for Troubleshooting, Data Downloading,
Study, Root cause analysis, Report Creation, and for creating the presentation for management.
 Using Omicron 256Plus kit for testing all assigned protections for relays such as - Differential
protection, thermal protection, Overload Protection, Lock rotor, Restart Inhibit, Earth fault,
Negative phase sequence etc.

Job Planning and operating MAXIMO production software-[maximo-7]:-

 Planning monthly maintenance plans, setting weekly schedules and prepares daily activities.
Like PM, Critical CM and Priority one jobs etc.
 Planning the Working on height, hot work and confined space work permits with in
coordination with HSE team.
 Creating the approved procedure for working on live circuitry for troubleshooting,
 Planning the LTSA jobs which is the part of Annual PM’s.
 Scheduling the WO, Raising the PR, Creating DTR etc.
 Assigning manpower to the Respective staff depends on the type and criticality of Work.
 Complete knowledge of work-Order Work-flow in the system.
 Ordering spares part and materials as necessary and control the inventory of consumable.
  Scheduling and supervising daily workshop activities to ensure the proper utilization of
manpower.
 Tracking the record and sending the electrical measurement/testing instrument for calibration
from the approved and authorized third party agency.
 Providing personal supervision to the critical job, achieving safety from the inherent danger,
and maintaining safe work practice all the time of work.
 Raising the DTR, creating Purchase Request as per the material criticality, taking approvals from
Engineering Manager, setting up there priorities, and following up regularly for the same.
 Creating Gate pass for the Contractors, vendors and material exit gate pass, as per company
approved procedures.
 Achieving the entire above job done by only following up the company approved procedures.
 Creating the approved procedure if is there any requirement to do so, later taking approval for
the same.

Goals and Achievements:-

 Individually Annalise and prepare rout cause analysis of CT flashover in MV [11KV] switchgear,
Testing the new CT, Testing all protections in MiCom relay, testing the bus bar, and re-
commissioning the complete panel again. Report is circulated to all over GDF-Suez, and was
highly appreciated.
 Many times Solved the SFC related problem, declaring the GT available ASAP.
 Along with the teams troubleshoot many Control circuitries, such as Earth Switch Mechanism
repairing in MV panel, feedback issues, On command issues, Fail safe logic etc.
 Cleared All the Safety and Technical Interview for Becoming Competency Person In Transco.
 Successfully completed the Partial Discharge test of all five, 20-220 Kv,291/281MVA
transformers with 500 meter cable length, Partial Discharge test done with the help of
High Voltage Current Transformer, Transient Earth Voltage detector and along with a computer
set-up.
 Completed the Commissioning and Erection of four, Dry type 11kv-2kv ABB transformers.

Three single pressure Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) from Ansaldo.

Responsibilities:

 Directly reporting to Q-power Lead Electrical Engineer

 Preventive Maintenance of the Transformer, Checking the Condition of the Breather and Silica
Gel, Monitoring the winding and oil temperature, checking the Manual run of the Cooling Fan,
Oil Pump and Monitoring the MOG. Collecting the oil sample from the power transformer for
BDV, DGA and Furan test, taking the Thermo graphic images of the HV bushing, clamps and tank,
Also performing the Simulation testing over the different protections used in Power
Transformers.
 Maintenance and Testing of the ACB , VCB’s, using CABA[computerized aided breaker
analyzer]software and programma HV testing kit [TM1800] and static and dynamic resistance
measurement with SDRM 202 [Static and Dynamic Resistance Measurement kit].
 Worked on the SF6 CBs [in Gas insulated Switchgear and in the Generator circuit breaker].
 TESTING OF PROTECTION RELAYS: Static and Advanced Microprocessor based numerical
relays including,
 Preventive maintenance of HT motors. Checking the healthiness of motor winding by IR
measurement, checking the conditioning Coolers, Space Heater, Terminal box , Monitoring the
DE and NDE side Temperature, Planning and Execution of the Lubrication Schedule, Taking the
Thermo graphic images and creating a report using the IR camera[model Fluke TI 55].
 Preventive Maintenance and overhauling of the LT motors, Bearing Replacement. Checking the
Healthiness of motor winding using Motor checker, checking the condition of the terminal box.
Planning and Execution of the Lubrication Schedule.
 Routine inspection of the Transformers, LV & HV Switchgear, LV, HV Motors, etc.
 Maintaining and monitoring, UPS, Ni-Cd and Lead Acid Battery, Battery charger and Battery
bank [Ni-Cd] of 900AH, 630AH.
 Planning of major maintenance and shutdown of major electrical equipments. This includes
highlighting specific items of equipment which require maintenance, assessing resources,
material and logistic requirement. Supervises overhaul maintenance.
 Compliance with the Qatar Power Environmental Health and Safety Procedures.
