Mode, Median, Mean/Average
Mode.
Most repeated number(s) in given data.
= 1,5,5,8,8,8,4,9,9 = 1,5,5,8,8,8,4,9,9,9 (2 modes)
= 2,4,6,8,3,5,7 (no mode)
Median.
Middle value/number in given data.
= 2,10,6,8,9,5,3,7,4 ( Hint = arrange ascending or descending
order)
Concept of even and odd items in data, and range (diff of min and max
value).

The Mean (Average). Most popular and well known measure.

= sum of numbers / total numbers
The Mean (Average). Most popular and well known measure.

The average of 5 terms is 50. If the first 4 terms are 45, 42, 40, and 84, what will be
the last term?

In the first 10 overs of a cricket game, the run rate was only 3.2. What should be the
run rate in the remaining 40 overs to reach the target of 282 runs?

A grocer has a sale of Rs. 6435, Rs. 6927, Rs. 6855, Rs. 7230 and Rs. 6562 for 5
consecutive months. How much sale must he have in the sixth month so that he gets an
average sale of Rs. 6500?

Avrg = sum/No 6500 = sum/6 sum = 6500*6 = 39,000

Note : The average of first n natural numbers is (n +1) / 2

The average of first 10 natural numbers is?
The average of 9 observations was 9, that of the 1st of 5 being 10 and that of the last 5
being 8. What was the 5th observation?
The Mean (Average). Most popular and well known measure.

Note : The average of first n natural numbers is = (n +1) / 2

The average of first 10 natural numbers is?
The average of square of n natural numbers is = (n +1)(2n+1) / 6

The average of cubes of n natural numbers is = n(n+1)2 / 4

The average of odd numbers is till n = last odd number + 1 /2

The average of even numbers is till n = last even number + 2 /2

Geometry
Perimeter, Area, Circumference
Types of angles:

Right angle (90), straight angle (180), acute angle, ( greater than 0 less than
90), obtuse angle (greater than 90 lees than 180), reflex angle ( more than
180 less than 360), complementary angles (sum is 90), supplementary angles (
sum is 180)
Sum of 3 angles of a triangle = 180
Sum of 4 angles of square/rectangle= 360

Sum of angles of a polygon with n sides = (n-2)180 n are sides of n-gon

Pythagorean theorem. (About right triangle)

Square of hypotenuse (side opposite to the right angle) = sum of squares of other two
sides

c2 = a2 + b2 (Pythagorean equation)
