CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study


This study focuses on the use of a Facebook AI chatbot as an educational tool to assist
students with limited internet access. In many regions, students struggle with online
research and assignment completion due to restricted data plans. By leveraging free-data
access to social media, the chatbot can provide an alternative educational support system.

Statement of the Problem


This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a Facebook AI chatbot in assisting students
with limited internet access. Specifically, it addresses the following questions:
- What academic tasks do students commonly seek help with through the chatbot?
- How effectively does the chatbot support students in completing assignments and
research?
- Is there a notable improvement in students' ability to complete assignments when using
the chatbot?

Significance of the Study


This research is relevant for educational institutions, students, parents, and policymakers.
By analyzing the effectiveness of a Facebook AI chatbot for students with limited internet
access, this study contributes to the understanding of digital tools that bridge the
educational gap.

Scope and Delimitation


The study focuses on high school students at Valencia National High School, particularly
those using the Facebook AI chatbot to assist in research and assignments. The study
evaluates the chatbot's effectiveness within the constraints of free-data usage on social
media.
CHAPTER II
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

Review of Related Literature


This section reviews studies on AI chatbots in education, particularly in contexts with
limited internet access. Relevant studies from 2019 to 2024 are included, such as those
addressing:
- AI Chatbots in Education
- Digital Learning and Free Data Programs

Conceptual Framework
This framework shows the relationship between using the Facebook AI chatbot

H1: The Facebook AI chatbot significantly improves students’ academic performance.
CHAPTER III
METHODOLOGY

Research Design
This study employs a quantitative research design to assess the chatbot's effectiveness in
supporting academic tasks.

The Sample
A sample of 100 high school students at Valencia National High School will participate. They
will be selected based on willingness and free-data-only usage.

Research Instrument
A validated questionnaire will assess chatbot use frequency, perceived effectiveness, and
academic improvements.

Reliability and Validity


Reliability will be assessed via Cronbach’s alpha, while content validity will be confirmed by
expert review.

Intervention
The intervention involves using the Facebook AI chatbot for six weeks. It will help students
with research, assignments, and general queries.

Data Collection Procedure


Permissions will be obtained from the administration, followed by distributing and
collecting questionnaires after six weeks.

Plan for Data Analysis


Descriptive statistics will summarize chatbot usage data. A t-test will determine
performance differences pre- and post-intervention, and Pearson correlation will assess
relationship strength.
CHAPTER IV
PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
This chapter presents the data collected through the research instruments and interprets
the findings in relation to the study objectives. Analysis includes the chatbot usage patterns,
its perceived helpfulness, and any improvement in academic performance.
CHAPTER V
SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary of Findings
This section summarizes the key findings, including how effectively the Facebook AI chatbot
supported students in their research and assignments.

Conclusions
The conclusions will address whether the hypotheses were supported, particularly if the

Recommendations
Recommendations will focus on potential improvements for chatbot integration in
educational programs and suggestions for educators to support students with limited
internet access.
