    CROSS STITCH
    Cross stitch is worked in two stages – first work the lower stitch (from left to
    right) and then work the upper stitch (from right to left).

    YARN USAGE
    Anchor Stranded Cotton, worked with 2 strands.

    STITCH TECHNIQUE
    Cross stitch worked over 2 fabric threads each way.

    FABRIC
    All materials specified are for 1 cushion: 33 x 33 cm white evenweave fabric
    (112 threads/10 cm) and 46 x 73 cm matching cotton fabric, e.g. gingham
    (available from specialist suppliers). Cut out the pink/blue cotton fabric as
    follows: 1 strip 8 x 33 cm, 2 strips each 8 x 39.5 cm and 1 strip 8 x 46 cm, for
    the back 2 rectangles 43 x 23 cm and 43 x 20 cm. All fabric measurements
    include seam allowance. BACKSTITCH
    Backstitch is worked from right to left. Bring the needle up through the
