Q1.

Why we need sampling:-

1. It would be impracticable for you to survey the entire population.
2. Your budget constrains prevent you from surveying the entire population
3. Your time constrains prevent you from surveying the entire Population

Q2.Sampling frame:- is the list containing all the elements from which you choose the
sample

Q3.What is sampling unit:- sampling unit is a element containing the element that is
available for selection at some stage of the sampling process.

Q4.What is probability sampling:- is most commonly associated with probability sam-

pling and survey based research strategy where you need to make inferences from
your sample about a population to answer your research question

05.Stages of probability sample:-

1. Identify a suitable sampling frame based on your research question
2. Decide on a suitable sample size
3. Select the most appropriate sampling technique and select the sample.
4. Check that the sample representative of the entire population
5. In the probability sampling each element in the population has an equal chance of
selection, every element is selected independently of every other element.

Simple random sampling :- it the most popular and easiest method of probability sam-
pling, where every object or number or digit are randomly selected. Lottery system is
the best example of srs.

Stratified sampling:- choose the stratification variable or variable

Variable
1. Divide the sampling frame into discrete strata means small groups or sub seg-
ments
2. Number each of the strata with a unique number
3. Select your sample using either simple random or systematic sample

Cluster sample:- 1.choose the cluster group for your sampling frame
1. Number each of the cluster with a unique number
2. Select your sample using random sample

Systematic sample:- number each of the sample frame with a unique number
1. Select the first case using a random number
1. Select the subsequent cases systematically using the sampling fractions to deter-
mine the frequency of selection

Formula of sampling fractions

Actual sample size divided by total population

Multiple stage sample:- this sample used to overcome associate with a geographical
dispersed population face to face contact is needed and where it is expensive and
time consuming to construct a sampling frame for a large geographical area.
