SIZING
Sizing is the process of giving a protective coating on the warp to minimize yarn breakage during weaving. Sizing raw material is
starch or gum.
Starch or gum is three types--

1. Natural (Potato, maize, wheat, sago, tamarind powder etc)

2. Modified (starch ether, starch ester)
3. Synthetic (Poly vinyl Alcohol-PVA, Car boxy Methyl Cellulose- CMC)

Sizing method. (Basis on size % in the yarn.)

1. Light sizing 10-15%

2. Pure sizing 16-25%
3. Medium sizing 26-50%
4. Heavy sizing 51-100%
5. Extra heavy sizing 100-200%

Sizing Raw Materials:

1. PVA =Poly vinyle acrylic:Increase the inner strength of yarn.

2. Starch =Make the coating of sized yarn.
3. Size CA(Acrylic ) =to helping raw of starch & remove the hairiness of yarn.
4. Wax =Remove the hairiness & make softing properties.

RKM-Value is the length in kilometer which is the yarn can support at breaking
points.
RKM=Single yarn strength (g)/Tex no of yarn.
TEX = Grammies per Kilometer
Cotton count=590.5/tex
Yarn Dyeing cost:
1. White = bleach + optic =0.90-1.0 USD
2. Light =1.2-1.3 USD
3. Medium =1.5-1.6 USD
4. Dark =1.7-2.0 USD
5. Extra dk =2.1-2.4 USD
6. Special =2.3-2.6 USD

Basic concept of Sizing
1. Starch =60-65%; Make the coating the yarn
2. PVA =15-20%; Poly vinyl Acrylic increase the inner strength.
3. Binder =10-15%; Help the raw starch and remove the hairiness of yarn.
4. Wax =3-5%; Soft the yarn and remove hairiness.

Total =100%
Price of Polytex
1. Polytex-17 =169 Tk W
2. Polytex-17 =163 Tk NW
3. Polytex-60 =103 Tk
4. Polytex-BI =195 Tk
5. PVA =200 Tk
6. Wax =149 Tk
