COURSE DESCRIPTION
In line with RA 9512, this course shall encompass environmental concepts and principles, environmental laws, the threats to environmental
degradation and its impact on human well-being, and the responsibility of the citizen to the environment and the value of conservation,
protection, and rehabilitation of natural resources and the environment in the context of sustainable development.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOME
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:
CLO 1. Display the basic principles and concepts about Environmental Science;
CLO 2. Recognize the different Environmental Laws existing in the Local and National;
CLO 3. Discuss the different threats to environmental degradation and its impact on human well-being;
CLO 4. Assess human activities that alter the flow of Biogeochemical Cycles and disturbs/destroys different Ecosystems.
CLO 5. Describe on the major source of pollution in different environments and identify the possible solutions for these problems
CLO 6. Reflect on the negative effects of human activities that alter biogeochemical cycles, destroy ecosystems, and increases pollutants on
the environment.

A. Attending to scheduled online meetings are not mandatory. Your attendance is demonstrated through contributing to course
discussions and/or assignments. Completion of the Learning Modules are mandatory including submissions of performance tasks
embedded in the self-directed modules. Prompt submission of required tasks are highly encouraged.

C. Students are expected to display the highest degree of honesty and professionalism in their class work, requirements and activities
especially that the flexible modality offers greater opportunity for cheating.
D. Any complaints, problems, issues, and/or concerns (teaching, grades, etc.) related to our class should be properly addressed to the
subject instructor for resolution. You can communicate your concern through any platform for communication such as e-mails,
messengers, chats, SMS or during the scheduled synchronous meetings. Shall there be no mutually agreed resolution on the issue, you
may seek the help of the Program Coordinator or the ILAS Dean in resolving the issue with any of your subject instructor.
COURSE POLICIES
A. ACADEMIC DISHONESTY. Academic dishonesty shall in no way be tolerated. Any paper or part thereof, which is discovered to have
been copied/plagiarized or prepared by another person, shall be given a grade of 5.0. The student shall not be allowed to submit
another paper in lieu of the copied/plagiarized paper.
C. COURSE REQUIREMENTS SUBMISSION. Date of submission of each requirement must be followed strictly.
D. EXAMINATIONS. Examinations must be taken according to schedule. A special examination may be given provided that the student
has valid reason(s), and with corresponding necessary attachment such as medical certificate (in case of sickness) and/or other
reference. No privilege is given for student to take missed quiz or quizzes.
E. MISSED CLASS SESSION. If there is a requirement/paper needed for a particular schedule, missing the class session is not an excuse
for the student not to comply with what is due.
F. STUDENT CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE, ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS. (Refer to Article V of the revised Student’s Handbook).
