i. calculate the distance travelled, correct to the three significant figures.
ii. If the speed of the aircraft is 800km per hour, calculate the time taken,
correct to the nearest hour [take  = 22/7, R = 6400km] .

with the light – house. The angles of elevation of the top of the light house from the two
boats are 71.60 and 450. Find the height of the light – house [take tan 71.60 = 3]

depression of the top and bases of control towers are 30 0 and 330 respectively.

5. Two towns K and Q are on the parallels of latitude 46 0N, The longitude of town K is 1300W
and that of town Q is 1030W. a third town P also on latitude h460N, is on longitude 230E.
Calculate:
i. The length of the parallel of latitude 460N, to the nearest 100km.
ii. The distance between K and Q, correct to the nearest 100km
iii. The distance between Q and P measured along the parallel of latitude, to the nearest
10km (take  = 3.142), R = 6400km

During a special sales period, the shirt was sold at 10% reduction to a
customer for N864. What was the original cost to the shop – owner?
