Mission
The Salesian Catholic school of Don Bosco Technical Institute–Victorias, commit to a holistic and
quality education for the young and the marginalized.
Philosophy
As a Catholic school, Don Bosco Technical Institute–Victorias upholds that: Faith in the Triune God
is the pillar where everything rests; Hope in the Triune God is the source of endurance in
difficulties; and that the fruit of all endeavors, under the guidance of the Church visibly represented
by the Pope, becomes an expression of man’s Love for the Triune God and God’s Love for man.
As a Filipino school, the passionate love for the Philippines and a solid contribution to the building
of this nation is a major goal.
As a Salesian school, the Christian humanism of St. Francis of Sales and the Preventive System of St.
John Bosco becomes the main pedagogical method and the basis for the day-to-day teacher-
student relational encounter.
A system that involves a special attitude of the educator patterned after that of the Good Shepherd
[SYM-FR, p.86],A system that includes a set of interventions based on a strong belief in love,
reason, and faith aimed at helping the young person mature in the religious dimension,
educational-cultural dimension, social experience dimension, and vocational dimension [SYM-FR,
pp.88, 150-160], and
A system that involves the community of young people and adults, parents, and educators in an
atmosphere of family, working together in realizing the Salesian Youth Ministry [SYM-FR, p. 116].
Goals and Objectives
Don Bosco Technical Institute-Victorias aims to:
to develop interest for creative and constructive work.;
to develop positive attitude towards science and technical education;
to develop skill and expertise among students;
to organize program of computer literacy on wide scale;
to offer the programme through distance learning process, including use of online facilities;
to keep abreast of modernization and technological changes for being competitive in the
global market in order to accelerate the process of industrialization.

Goals
Goal 1: Teachers will change and improve the delivery of instruction to realize the benefits of a one-
to-one computing environment
Goal 2: To increase student achievement, engagement, and ability to learn to meet the demands of
the world they are entering
Goal 3: Create and support equitable opportunities for student learning through the use of
technology as an extension of the classroom
I. INTRODUCTION
DBTI Computer Laboratories are spaces designed to support students for their academic
growth and provide access to technology tools necessary for learning, research, and
technological advancement. To ensure an optimal learning environment for students, a
handbook is revised to comprehensively outline all the necessary things to consider on how to
use the computer laboratories. This contains guidelines for students and teachers to ensure
that laboratories are protected from misuse.
To help ensure the smooth operation of the labs please follow the policies and procedures listed
below.
• Handle Computers Equipment with Care: Always treat computers, peripherals (keyboards,
mice, monitors), and other hardware with care. Report any damage, malfunctions, or issues
immediately to your teacher.
• Do Not Tamper with Settings: Users should not alter the computer's system settings or
install/remove software without permission.
• Clean Up After Use: Ensure that your workstation is left clean. Eating and Drinking is not
allowed.
2. Use of Computers
• Academic Use Only: The computer lab should be used for educational purposes only. Activities
such as research, assignments, programming, and educational projects are encouraged.
• Authorized Software Only: Use only the approved software and applications. Unauthorized
installation or use of software (including games, tools, or applications) is strictly prohibited.
• Respect Others: Keep noise to a minimum. Speak quietly and avoid disturbing others who are
working. If you need to collaborate, do so in a way that does not disrupt the environment.
• Avoid Disruptive Behavior: Loud talking, arguing, playing loud music, or engaging in
inappropriate behavior is not allowed.
• No Bullying or Harassment: The computer lab is a safe environment. Cyberbullying,
inappropriate messages, or disruptive behavior directed at others will not be tolerated.
4. Internet and Network Usage
• Use the Internet for Academic Purposes Only: Access the internet strictly for school-related
research and academic activities. Unauthorized surfing or visiting inappropriate websites is
prohibited.
• Respect Privacy: Do not access, modify, or share others' files or personal information. Respect
privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Protect Your Passwords: Keep your login credentials confidential. Never share your password
or login details with others.
6. Technical Support
• Report Problems Immediately: If you encounter a technical issue (computer freezes, software
crashes, etc.), report the issue to the subject teachers or IT staff. Do not attempt to fix the
problem yourself.
7. Schedules
• Reserve Computers as Needed: If reservations are required, make sure to book your
workstation in advance.
• Respect Scheduled Classes: During scheduled class periods, priority is given to the class that
has reserved the space.
8. Safety
• Electrical Safety: Never attempt to tamper with cables, power cords, or computer equipment.
• Always log out of your accounts and close all applications when you leave your workstation.
• Do not share passwords or personal account information with anyone.
• Avoid downloading unverified files or software from the internet.
• In case of emergency (fire, power failure, etc.), follow the school’s emergency evacuation plans
posted in the laboratory.
• Report any security concerns, suspicious behavior, or safety hazards to a teacher or IT
Personnel immediately.
V. Duties and Responsibilities
Subject Teacher:
o Supervision and Assistance: Teachers should supervise students when using the labs to
ensure adherence to guidelines, offering support for students needing help with software
or technical issues.
o Educational Use of Technology: Teachers should guide students in using the computers for
academic purposes and encourage responsible use of the internet and digital tools.
o Regular Maintenance Reporting: Teachers are expected to report any technical issues to
the lab technician or IT support to ensure the computers are functioning correctly for
future use.
IT Personnel:

o Monitor and maintain the computer lab's network to ensure connectivity and optimal
performance.
o Assist in configuring routers, switches, and access points as necessary.
o Implement security measures to protect the lab network from unauthorized access and cyber
threats.
8. Policy Enforcement
o Ensure compliance with computer lab policies, including rules on internet usage, software
licensing, and ethical computing practices.
o Address violations and provide guidance to users when necessary.
