1. a) The table below shows the pension right of an individual who has a minimum of 28years contribution to SSNIT
under PNDC law 247.

Mr. Donkor and Mr. Asiedu worked for 30years and 37 years respectively in Ghana Education Service as
Mathematics teachers and contributed to SSNIT pension scheme under PNDC law 247. If their best three year
average is GHȻ22,800.00 each;
i) Calculate Mr. Donkor’s Monthly pension.
ii) By how much is Mr. Aseidu’s monthly pension greater than that of Mr. Donkor.
iii) What accounted for their difference in the monthly pensions of the two workers?
b) The angles of a pentagon are x°, (x + 20)°, (x + 25)°, 2x° and (2x + 5)°. Find the value of x.
c) Factorize completely 7 – 6x – x2
2. a) The set A = {-6, -4, -2, 0, 2, 4, 6}and B = {0≤x≤6} are subsets of the universal set Z = {-7≤x≤7}.
i) Describe the members of the set A′, where A′ is the complement of set A.
ii) Find A′ ∩ B
iii) Represent the sets A, B and Z on a venn diagram.
b) kelvin is three years elder to Seema. Five years ago, three-fifth of his age was equal to three-fourth of Seema’s
age. What is the present age of kelvin and Seema?

3. a) The diagram below represents a field with a circular pond of diameter 14m. PIS and QUR are semi-circles. PQRS
is rectangle with |PQ| = 112m and |QR| = 56m. Find the area of the field excluding the pond.
c) The value of a printing machine depreciated each year by 8% of its value at the beginning of that year. If the value
of the new machine is GHȻ54,000.00, find its value at the end of the third year.

b) Find the perimeter of a rectangular field whose length and diagonal are 60m and 61m respectively.
c) The fuel consumption in litres by a country is given by 103y +1 where y is in days. After how many days will the
country consume a total fuel of 10014?
