1. The following data shows the profit of 6 organizations in thousands on a single month.

Find the mean, median, mode, 2 nd quartile, 6th deciles, 75th percentile and standard
deviation.

2. The following table shows the distribution of a group of families according to their
expenditure per week. The median and the mode of the distribution are known to be 22.5
and 24.5 birr respectively. Two frequency values are however missing from the table

25% in the second year and 10% per annum for the next two years; each percentage is

6. Suppose the average salary of male employees is 520 Birr and that of females is 420 Birr.
The mean salary of all employees is 500 Birr. Find the percentage of the number of male
and female employees.
7. The mean score of 30 students of two sections is 25. If the mean score of one section of
15 students is 20 what is the mean score of students in the second section.
8. The IQ score of Sara is 25 and the average IQ of her co-workers in company X is 20 with
a standard deviation of 3. The IQ score of Hirut is 35 and the average IQ of her co-
workers in company Y is 32 with a standard deviation of 4.
a. Who is better? Sara or Hirut?
b. Which company has more uniform workers?
