Abstract
Briefly summarize the main point of this study.
Hint: Use one sentence for each part and form an easily understood paragraph. One
sentence for what’s the lab about and what have been done, one sentence for the
result (put quantitative result or qualitative argument), one sentence for conclusion or
remark (if any). Never exceed more than 4 sentences.
Example: A quantitative measurement of xxx has been conducted to verify xxx. We
made use of xxx to calculate/measure/operate xxx. Our result shows that xxx, which is
in agreement of xxx, and xxx% from theoretical prediction.
Introduction
The necessity of this study, explain the background and define the key question you
would like to answer or hypothesis you would like to verify.Hint: The motivation of this
study. What is the basic physics principle of the lab, why is it important? A common way
when doing introduction is to give hypothesis, If A increases B increases vice versa.
Shorter than 6 lines.
Example: The lab consists of the application/demonstration of xxx principle. Xxx.
Following from the physical principle we could hypothesis xxx.
Procedure
Describe how do you conduct this experiment to get the required measurements.
Always include figures/configuration to explain the apparatus and steps. In passive
language or present/past tense. No instructional language or point format would be
accepted.
Example: The length of xxx was found to be xxx m. The position of xxx has been
recorded in tables. The ball has been released from rest at a certain height of xxx m.
Wrong: You receive 0 credit for the whole part if you make any mistake like below
1. Point format
2. Instructional language: Measure the length of car, record the data, push the car
forward.
Results
Perform important calculation here and show how you get your result, with computer-
generated data graph and table. No screenshot, no scanned copy. All tables and
graphs must be generated using excel or word or other text/data editing software.
Graphs must have figure name (“Graph #1”), title (“Graph of A against B”, which is Y
vs X. You only heard of v-t graph, but never t-v graph.), axis name (with correct unit)
and trendline equation (if present). Tables must have table name (“Table #1”), column
title (with correct unit on top). Include error percentage result here if present. Caption of
graph is optional but encouraged. Quality and completeness of data will be examined.
Hint: Usually all numbers should be shown here.
Appendix
Attach your worksheets and extra data table if any. You may put your graphs here if you
do not include in previous sections. List any additional data or materials here
