EMAIL

1.What is an E-mail?

E-mail (Electronic mail) is an electronic exchange of messages. It


allows people to send messages, attachments, images, and
other files to one or more recipients almost instantly .It is a fast
and reliable means of communication that is free and easily
accessible. It allows people to foster long-lasting, long-distance
communication. They are delivered instantly online.

2.what are the advantages of email ?

1.Email is Fast: Email provides the fastest mode of messaging


when compared to other modes like post, telegram etc.

2.Mass Mailing: You can target multiple audiences in one go


using Emailing by selecting multiple recipients.

3.Email for record keeping: we can Use Email as a record


keeper for all our
Conversations or discussions. Email can be used as a proof of
dialogue between two parties for future reference.

4.Growth of Organization: Maintaining and growing your e-mail


database will allow you to fully utilize the services, including free
broadcast e-mails and an upgraded version of HTML e-mails in
order to reach more participants
3.What are the email services ?
Some of the leading internet service providers are as follows:
Gmail,Outlook.com and yahoo.com

Other popular emailing services are AOL mail, Hotmail, Zoho


Mail, Mail.com, Yandex Mail, Inbox.com, iCloud Mail.

2.What are the components of email ?


Main folders include -Inbox ,starred,sent mail ,drafts
Sub folders include -important ,chats,All mails,spam

3. How can an email text be formatted?


We can use various inbuilt text formatting options to modify the
appearance of the mail. Gmail provides the following options to
modify the text message .

BOLD
Italics
Underline
Change Font Type/Size/Colour/Background
Indent the message text
Use “Bullets and Numbers” to highlight the information.

4. How can a file be sent with an email message?

Sending an Email with Attachment


Gmail provides the feature to add attachments like documents,
multimedia files with the
mail.

1.In Gmail, click the Compose button.


2.Click the paperclip icon at the bottom of the compose window.

3.Browse through your files and click the name of the file you'd
like to attach.
Click Open.

A user can perform basic actions using the email services like:

o Replying an email
o Forwarding an email
o Printing an email

4. What is the difference between replying to a message and


forwarding it?

REPLYING TO A MESSAGE
1.Replying lets you send a response to a mail in your inbox.
2.To reply to a message, just click in the box below the message
and type away!
3.Click the arrow icon in the top right corner of the message you
received.
4.Select the “Reply” option to open the reply dialogue box.
5.When you reply, the previous text from the rest of the
conversation can be seen.

Forwarding a MESSAge

1.Forwarding lets you resend a message in your inbox.


2.Open the message you want to forward.
3.Click the arrow icon in the top right corner of the message you
received.
4.Select the “Forward” option to open the Forward dialogue box.
5.Add the recipients in the “To” Textbox and send the mail.

6. Write the steps to clean the inbox of unwanted email


messages.

1.User can delete unwanted/old mails/conversations using the


“Delete”
option..Click the "Delete" button to delete the message.

3.User can also use Trash button to delete a mail

4.user can Unsubscribe from Mailing Lists:

● Click "Unsubscribe" to stop future emails from that sender.


5.User can Set up filters to automatically move or delete
emails from certain senders to keep the inbox tidy.

7. How do you add a signature to email?

An e-mail signature is a block of text that is appended to the end


of an e-mail message that is sent.
8.How to Creating Folders/Labels for Archiving Mails?

Gmail provides labels for organizing your email messages into


categories, like work, family, to do, read later or any other
category. Labels are customizable and private to every user. They
work like folders, but one can add more than one to a message or
delete labels as per the need.

Use the steps given below to create a label:

1.On the left, below your labels list, click More. If you don't see
More, drag the gray
dividing line down to show more labels.

2.Click Create new label.

3.Type the name of your new label.

4.Click Create.
