Structure of the semester

This module includes 02 sessions per week: A lecture that will provide you with
concepts, theoretical knowledge and some ideas followed by a tutorial to help
clarify some important points, feedback or technical support. This module
includes 01 seminar for Q&A to address problems and further help discuss your
work. 4 logbooks are milestones that bring you closer to your objective of your
project. You will be expected to take your lecture notes and prepare outside
of class for both the tutorials and logbooks.

Lectures
Most lectures will include some activities, especially discussion. There will be a
significant amount of application of theories or theoretical concept. So, you will
need to read a lot outside of class to be able to participate. Therefore, you
should plan to read a topic/document before the lecture (and take notes
while reading).

Logbooks
You will have logbook brief which explains what you are expected to produce for
the upcoming 4 logbooks. Logbooks are for you to present your work and

receive feedback in return. That gives you the chance to check your progress
throughout the semester and also to make any corrections before you
submit your final work.

Important class policies

All students should be serious and professional. Everything you do, or do not do,
shows how professional you are. So, come to class on time. If you come late,
you will disrupt the class and I cannot allow that out of respect for everyone who
is there on time. Students who are late will be marked absent and may not be
allowed to attend class that day.

Students are expected to only use English for any activities in the
classroom, before, during, and after the session.

Avoid using low quality websites for research

In general, you should not depend on websites because they are unreliable.
Websites are great, especially Wikipedia, but you should not only depend on
what the website says. You can use websites in order to get ideas but then
you should take those ideas and research them in books and academic
journals. You can find books and academic journals in the library and also
online. If you need help finding these resources, please contact your teacher or
tutor.

Assessments
Your final grade will be based on your total performance over the semester,
which includes a PMP and a final report.

The unit is designed to assess students’ knowledge and skill in undertaking and
managing a project. You will complete assignment 1 and 2, respectively and
submit them on the dates assigned.

Final thoughts on how to succeed in this module

The most important thing is to have an open mind and study seriously. So, take
notes, read a lot outside of class, collect a lot of data, and prepare your work
well – this will naturally lead to a good grade in this module.

Remember: Your teachers are here to help… so if you have any questions or
inquiries, please inform teaching staff.
