Transport Request

-GANESH PADALA
www.ganeshsapscm.com
Transport Request acts as a carrier of the
configuration settings from one system to another
system or one client to another client under the same
landscape
Ex: Development to Quality, Golden Client to Testing
Client under Development system

Each Transport Request contains Task(s) which

contains the details of complete configuration settings

Two Types of Transport Requests are available

1. Customized Transport Request: The configuration
settings which will be applicable to only the client
where we do the configuration.
Ex: Creation of Plant, Creation of Material types,
Creation of Purchasing document types
2. Workbench Transport Request: The configuration
changes which affects the other clients under the
Development landscape are saved automatically in
Workbench Transport Requests.
Ex: Maximum changes related to ABAP, Changes
related to Access Sequences

Moving TR from one Client to Other client:

 T Code to move TR from one client to other

client is SCC1
 TR doesn’t have to release to move withing
same landscape
 SCC1 has to be performed in the destination
system
Ex: If you want to move a TR from 800 to 812,
you should open SCC1 in 812 client

Moving of TR from one Landscape to other

Landscape. Eg: Development to Quality

1. TR has to be released to move to other

landscape
2. To release a TR, the tasks under the TR
should be released first.
3. Transaction Code STMS is used to move a
TR from one System to another system
4. Transaction Code to release TR is SE09

Once the TR is released, you can’t save any new

configuration changes in that TR. Those changes need
to be saved either in a new TR or any existing TR
which has Modifiable stage
