STREET MARKETS IN LESSEX
With new supermarkets open 24 hours a day, street markets in Lessex are still very popular. Why? This week we are
trying to answer this question.

A LESSEX GREEN MARKET

It offers fresh vegetables and fruit from local farmers. Tasty strawberries are more expensive here than in
a supermarket, but better than the ones from Spain or Greece. Some people always buy from the same sellers here.
They like chatting to them – not only about the food!

B POPPIES FLEA MARKET

It’s very popular among teenagers. Why? Where else can you get a second-hand jacket for £10? There are also
dresses, jeans and T-shirts in all styles and colours – and all so cheap! And if you are hungry, go to the Indian
restaurant across the street and eat the best chicken curry in Lessex!

C LONDON STREET MARKET

This little market has real feta cheese from Greece, olive oil from Spain and Japanese beans. You can buy any exotic
food you want here. The colours and the atmosphere make this market really attractive and you can speak Spanish
with the sellers, too!
