General instructions:
• This question paper consists of two parts A and B.
Part – A:
• It consists of two sections – I and II.
• Section I has 16 questions.
Section II has four case study-based questions. Each case has 5 case-based sub-parts. An examine is to
attempt any 4 out of 5 sub-parts.

Part – B:
• Question No 21 to 26 are Very Short Answer Type questions of 2 marks each.
• Question No 27 to 33 are Short Answer Type questions of 3 marks each.
• Question No 34 to 36 are Long Answer Type questions of 5 marks each.

by guessing. He answered 120 questions and got 90 marks.

27. Find the zeroes of the given polynomial and verify the relationship between the zeroes and

30. A circus tent is made up using two different coloured cloth material. Red coloured material
is used to make cylindrical part upto a height of 3 m and green coloured material to make
conical part above it. If the diameter of the base is 105 m and the slant height of the conical
part is 53 m, find the red coloured material and the green coloured material required.
[Assuming no stiching margins]

31. Rekha's mother is five times as old as her daughter Rekha. Five years later, Rekha's
mother will be three times as old as her daughter Rekha. Find the present age of Rekha and
her mother.

34. Solve the following equations graphically: x -y = 1 and 2x + y = 8.

35. Mrs. Tiwari has two sons, one being exactly one year older than the other. Her age is equal
to the sum of the squares of the ages of her sons. If 4 years hence her age becomes five
times the age of the elder son then find the ages of her sons.

For what value of k, the given equation has real and equal roots?
( k+1)x² - 2( k -1) x + 1 = 0

36. While boarding an airplane, a passenger got hurt. The pilot showing promptness and concern
and made arrangements to hospitalize the injured and so the plane started late by 30 min.
To reach the destination, 1500km away, in time, the pilot increased the speed by 100km/hr.
Find the original speed/hour of the plane.
