The insert tab includes various tools, including:

• Cover Page: offers a gallery of convenient predesigned.

• Blank Page: to put a blank page into your Word document.

• Page Break: puts a new page in your document unexpectedly.

• On the Insert tab, in the Pages group, click Cover Page.
• Click a cover page layout from the gallery of options.

Note: After you insert a cover page, you can replace the sample text
with your own text by clicking to select an area of the cover page, such
as the title, and typing your text.

• click Insert > Blank Page.
• The blank page opens, ready for whatever you want to add.

• Put your cursor where you want one page to end and the next to
begin.

Tables-Definition
 A table is a grid of cells arranged in rows and columns.
 Tables can be used to organize any type of content, whether you're
working with text or numerical data.

For a basic table, click Insert > Table and move the cursor over the grid
until you highlight the number of columns and rows you want.

• For a larger table, or to customize a table, select Insert > Table >
Insert Table.
• Click in the number of columns and rows text box and type the value
of their number.

• Click in your document where you want to insert your picture.
• Click the Insert tab.
• Click Pictures button.
• Navigate to the picture you want to insert and select it.
• Click Insert button.

Comments
• Select the text you want to comment on, or click at the end of the
text.
• On the Review tab, click New Comment.
• Type your comment. Word shows your comment in a balloon in the
document's margin.

Header and Footer


• A header is text that is placed at the top of a page, while a footer is
placed at the bottom, or foot, of a page.
• Typically these areas are used for inserting document information.
• Such as the name of the document, the chapter heading, page
numbers, creation date and the like.

• Go to Insert > Header or Footer.
• Choose the style you want to use, and edit the text in the header or
footer.
• When you're done, select close header and footer or press Esc.

• On the Insert tab, click the Page Number icon, and then click Page
Number.
• Select a location, and then pick an alignment style. Word
automatically numbers every page, except designated title pages.
• To change the numbering style, select Format and then choose the
formatting you want to use.

Text Section includes:


• Text Box: a text box is an object you can add to your document that
lets you put and type text anywhere in your file.

• Explore Quick Part: allows you to essentially create a library of


content that you use regularly, and then access it at any time to
quickly pull it into a document.

• Word Art: it is a gallery of text styles that you can add to your
publications to create decorative effects, such as shadowed or
mirrored (reflected) text.

Text Section includes:


• Drop Cap: A drop cap (dropped capital) is a large capital letter used as
a decorative element at the beginning of a paragraph or section. The
size of a drop cap is usually two or more lines.

• Signature Line : A signature line provides you, or somebody else, with


a location to sign a printed document. If you're planning on printing
your Word document, adding a signature line is probably the easiest
way for you to add a signature.

Text Section includes:


• Date and Time: In the Date and time dialog box, select the format you
want and click OK. The date is inserted as text.
• Object: Insert an embedded object such as another word document
or excel chart.

• Equation: produce mathematical equations, which can include
fractions, integrals, matrices, mathematical symbols, etc.
• Symbol: You can easily insert a special character, fraction, or other
symbol in your Word documents.

 Themes: A theme is a set of colors, fonts, and effects that determines
the overall look of your document. Themes are a great way to change
the tone of your entire document quickly and easily.

• Margins are the blank spaces that line the top, bottom, and left and
right sides of a document. They are important because they help
make a document look neat and professional.

• Page Orientation refers to the direction in which a document is
displayed. It is of two types; portrait (vertical) and landscape
(horizontal).
• Page size : you can choose different types of paper like letter, A4,….

• Breaks: use page breaks to control where a page ends and where a
new page begins.
• Line Numbers: appear to the left of each line on a page, and word
allows you to control the distance between those line numbers and
the text of the document.

• Columns: It is a tool lets you divide the page vertically into two or
more columns.
• Hyphenation: it is the use of a hyphen to break up a word when it
reaches the edge of a document or container.
