An official says a landslide on Indonesia's main island of Java has killed at least six gold
miners.
Six other workers at the illegal mine are still missing after the landslide in West Java's district
of Bogor.
Disaster management agency official Budi Aksomo said Friday several days of rain caused
the landslide at the mountainous site Thursday.
Rescuers are still evacuating the bodies from the scene and searching for the missing miners.
Seasonal downpours often cause landslides and flash floods in Indonesia, an archipelago
nation where millions of people live on mountains or near fertile flood plains.

The Jakarta Police will deploy some 2,500 personnel to safeguard one of the most anticipated
soccer matches in the city, where an Indonesian select team will play Multi Serie A
champions Football Club Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan) in a friendly at Bung Karno
Soccer Stadium in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday evening.
Up to 70,000 people are expected to throng the stadium, which can accommodate up to
80,000 spectators.
“The ticket sales are still ongoing. We expect 70,000 people will attend the match,” Jakarta

The police will escort the Inter Milan players on their way to and from the stadium and the
hotel where they are staying. They will also search all spectators, targeting sharp weapons,
firecrackers, pebbles and other dangerous items.
During its five-day tour in Jakarta, Inter is scheduled to face the Liga Selection, comprising
players from Indonesian Premier League clubs, on Thursday evening and to battle
Indonesia’s Under-23 squad on Saturday evening. Incoming head coach Andrea Stramaccioni
is bringing 20 Inter Milan players this time, including Javier Zanetti, Diego Milito, Maicon,

'Ministry has no problem with Gaga work
permit'
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Thu, 05/24/2012 11:58 AM
The Manpower and Transmigration Ministry says it has no problem issuing a work permit for
Lady Gaga under the condition that she goes through the required legal procedures.
"The ministry will issue its permit for foreign workers (TKA) according to procedure. It will
not discriminate, so long as the proper procedure was followed," Manpower and
Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
"Every one is treated equally, regardless of whether the TKA is a famous artist, a soccer
player or a regular worker."
Nevertheless, Muhaimin said that he hoped Gaga would respect Indonesian culture, by
making sure that her lyrics, clothes and stage actions will not offend.
Meanwhile, ministry representative Reyna Usman said that the work-permit issuing process
for Gaga had so far run smoothly and was currently entering its final phase.
After initially rejecting Lady Gaga's concert permit last week, the police have agreed to
reevaluate their stance on the artist.
Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Untung S. Rajab said on Tuesday that the show might be
allowed to go on if the promoter submitted all the necessary documents on time. The deadline
for Gaga's concert promoter, Big Daddy Entertainment, is Sunday.
Over 50,000 tickets for Lady Gaga's concert have been sold. Her concert is due to be
performed on June 3 at Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.(png)
