described by the minute hand in 20 minutes. (2M)

2. Volume a right circular cylinder with its height equal to the radius is 25 𝑐𝑚 .
Find the height of the cylinder. (Use 𝜋 = ) (2M)

3. Two circular pieces of equal radii and maximum area,

touching each other are cut out from a rectangular card
board of dimensions 14 cm × 7 cm. Find the area
of the remaining card board. [Use π = 22/7] (3M)

4. A chord of a circle of radius 10 cm subtended a right angle at the centre of

the circle. Find the area of the corresponding minor segment. (Use 𝜋 = 3.14) (3M)

5. A container shaped like a right circular cylinder having

base radius 6 cm and height 15 cm is full of ice-cream.
The ice-cream is to be filled into cones of height 12 cm
and radius 3 cm having hemispherical shape on the top.
Find the number of such cones which can be filled
with ice-cream. (5M)

6. A toy rocket is in the form of a right circular cylinder closed at the lower end and
surmounted by cone with same radius as that of cylinder. The height and diameter
of the cylindrical part is 12 cm & 6 cm, respec vely. Given slant height of the conical
part is 5 cm. (𝝅 = 𝟑. 𝟏𝟒) Determine (i) the total surface area of the toy. (2M)
(ii) the volume of the toy. (3M)

7. A sphere of diameter 12 cm, is dropped in a right circular cylindrical vessel, partly

filled with water. If the sphere is completely submerged in water, the water level in
the cylindrical vessel rises by 3 cm. Find the diameter of the cylindrical vessel. (5M)

B REVISION TEST – 1, MATHEMATICS, CLASS 10
Time: 1 Hour 20 NOV 2024 Marks : 25

Read the ques ons and answer them with proper steps and formulae as required:
1. In the given figure, three sectors of a circle of radius 7 cm, making
angles of 60 , 80 and 40 at the centre are shaded. Find the
total area of the shaded region.
(2M)
2. A wooden toy was made by scooping out a hemisphere of same radius from
each end of a solid cylinder. If the height of the cylinder is 10 cm, and its base
is of radius 3.5 cm, find the volume of wood in the toy. [Use π = 22/7]. (2M)

3. In a circle of radius 21 cm, an arc subtends an angle of 60 at the centre. Find

the area of the sector formed by the arc. Also find the length of the arc. (3M)

4. In the adjacent figure, O is the centre of the circle with

AC = 24 cm, AB = 7 cm and ∠𝐵𝑂𝐷 = 90 .
Find the area of the shaded region. (3M)

5. In the Figure, from a cuboidal solid metallic block, of

dimensions 15 cm × 10 cm × 5 cm, a cylindrical hole of
diameter 7 cm is drilled out. Find the surface area of (5M)
the remaining block. (Use π =22/7)

6. A farmer connects a pipe of internal diameter 20 cm from a canal into a cylindrical tank
which is 10 m in diameter and 2 m deep. If the water flows through the pipe at the rate
of 4 km per hour, in how much me will the tank be filled completely? (5M)

7. 150 spherical marbles, each of diameter 1.4 cm, are dropped in a cylindrical vessel of
diameter 7 cm containing some water, which are completely immersed in water. Find the
rise in the level of water in the vessel. (5M)

1. Given below is the picture of the Olympic rings made by five congruent circles of
radius 1 cm each, intersec ng in such a way that the chord formed by joining the
point of intersec on two circles is also of length 1 cm. Find the total area of all the
do ed regions together. (2M)

2. The radius of the base of a right circular cone and the radius of a sphere
are each 5 cm in length. If the volume of the cone is equal to the volume
of the sphere then find the height of the cone. (2M)

3. In the figure, a sector OAP is drawn with centre O, containing

angle 𝜃. AB is perpendicular to radius OA(= r) and meets
OP produced at B. Prove that the perimeter of the shaded
region is 𝑟 tan 𝜃 + sec 𝜃 + −1 . (3M)

4. AB is a chord of a circle centred at O such that ∠AOB=60.̊ If OA = 14 cm then find

the area of the minor segment. (take √3 =1.73). (3M)
