A.Y. 2024-25
School of Engineering
Program Name& Code – MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
COURSE HANDOUT
Date: (20/08/2024)
Course Title Fluid Mechanics & Fluid Machines

Course Code BMET 004

L–T-P 3-1-0

Course Coordinator Pradeep Kumar Barthwal

Team of Instructors

1. Course Description:
This course explores the principles governing fluid behavior, including fluid statics, dynamics, and
kinematics. Students will analyze concepts such as viscosity, flow rates, and pressure distribution,
while applying these principles to real-world systems. The course also covers fluid machinery,
including pumps, turbines, and compressors, emphasizing their design, operation, and efficiency.
Through theoretical and practical applications, students will gain a solid understanding of how
fluids interact with various mechanical systems.
