Geographical location:

- Phu Quoc is an island city in Kien Giang province, Vietnam. Phu Quoc
Island and neighboring small islands and Tho Chu archipelago combine to
form Phu Quoc city in the Gulf of Thailand. This is the first island city to be
established in Vietnam.
- The area is 589.27 km², the population in 2020 is 144,460 people, the
population density is 245 people/km².
- The waters of Phu Quoc have 22 large and small islands, of which Phu Quoc
island is the largest.
History of formation: From the 5th century BC, humans began to appear in
Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc Prison
- The Phu Quoc Prisoner of War Prison Camp is located in the south of Phu
Quoc Island.
- During the Indochina War, this prison was named "Coconut Tree Prison".
- It once held more than 32,000 prisoners of war
- There are a total of 12 zones (in 1972). Particularly, zones 13 and 14 were
built at the end of 1972. Each camp has the capacity to accommodate about
3000 prisoners.
- Prisoners of war in Phu Quoc prisoner of war prison have been subjected to
punishments and torture such as: nailing to the hands, legs and head; burning
red zinc wire to pierce the flesh, chisewing teeth, covering sacks to make
boiling water or pouring charcoal fire, throwing them into a pan of boiling
water, burning them alive, burying them alive...
- In 1995, the historical site of Phu Quoc Prison was recognized as a national
relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information.
Cua Can Beach
- Cua Can beach in Phu Quoc is located in Cua Can commune, Phu Quoc district,
Kien Giang
- This place is known as one of the attractive stops at the pearl island of Phu Quoc.

City, Kien Giang Province, Vietnam
- Hon Thom Cable Car is a modern three-wire cable car with a total length of
7,899.9 m awarded the World's Longest Cable Car Certificate by the Guinness
Organization.
- Located in Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park

Note:
In the peak season or holidays, Hon Thom cable car operates continuously in the
morning from 8:30-12:00 and in the afternoon from 13:30-19:00
- The ideal time to go is from November to April. At this time, Phu Quoc is in
the dry season, the sky is clear, the sun is warm and the sea is calm, the
waves are light.

- Phu Quoc Night Market is the busiest place to play, eat and shop in Phu
Quoc at night.
