READING MONTH CELEBRATION

Introduction

Pauline: Reading allows us to dive into these diverse worlds, fostering empathy and
understanding.

Jessa: As we explore the pages of different stories, we not only discover the lives of others but
also reflect on our own journeys.

Both :Good Morning ladies and gentlemen! And Welcome to our Reading Month celebration
and Awarding Ceremony! With a theme " English as a global language: Bridging cultures,
connecting worlds".

Pauline: Today, we come together to celebrate the remarkable power of the English language
as a bridge to understanding and connection.

Jessa:In this event, we will showcase the diverse talents and skills of our students, recognizing
those who have excelled in various activities throughout our Reading Month Celebration.

Pauline: Last time we’ve had a wide range of activities, including the Spelling Bee, Essay
Writing, Poster Making, Slogan, Big Book Making, and of course, the thrilling Amazing Race.

Jessa: That's right! Every student had the opportunity to participate, and it’s clear that these
activities were enjoyed by all.

Pauline : Well, the Reading Month Celebration actually doesn't end here.

Jessa: That’s right. In addition to the awarding ceremony today, we have more exciting
performances and creative showcases lined up for you this morning. And just like all of you, I
am also thrilled to witness them.

Pauline : Yes, we are very excited to see what students of Ponso National Highschool can offer
to the table.

Pauline :Now, to officially open our program, May I invite everyone to please stand and sing the
Philippine National Anthem, which will be led by Ma'am Kristine Pamela Joy B. Vega, MAPEH
teacher.

Jessa :Following that, we kindly ask everyone to remain standing for a moment of solemn
prayer, to be led by Ma'am Yolanda Borromeo, Filipino teacher.
Pauline:Now, to deliver her opening remarks, May I call on the presence of the English
Department Head, Ma'am Joana Rose Fernandez. Let us give her a round of applause.

Jessa:Thank you for that warm welcome, Ma'am Joana. We are confident that everyone has
enjoyed the activities so far and will continue to be entertained by the exciting performances
later on.

Pauline : Now, let us not prolong the agony of waiting! Today, students from various levels will
be showcasing their creativity by dressing up as their favorite characters.

Jessa: Yes. A while ago, we had a parade where students proudly displayed the characters
they chose to portray. Right now, they will have the opportunity to showcase their costumes
once again, but this time, that will be here in our stage.

Pauline: That's correct partner. Now to finally present our board of judges for today's Character
Fashion Show, May I call on the presence of Ma'am Joe Jane Buere . Let's us give her around
of applause.

(In case wala si Ma'am> In behalf of Ma'am Joe Jane, May I call on _____ to introduce our
board of judges)

Pauline: Thank you Ma'am and hello to our set of judges.

Jessa: Now let me present to you the criteria for judging

Pauline : So that's it! I guess everyone is excited to see the representatives of each year level.

Jessa: Are you ready to see our candidates?! (Audience response)

Pauline: Ladies and Gentlemen, let us all welcome the candidates for Character Fashion Show
2024! Starting off with candidate number 1…

Jessa: Now that we have already witnessed our candidates let us ask our audience kung sino
ba ang bet at favorite character nila.

(Hosts will ask the students)

(While waiting for the results engage with the students by asking random questions related to
the activity)

Pauline: Now the result is right here in our hands. Who do you think wore their best character
and projected in- character?

Jessa: Again, who's your bet?

Pauline: To award the certificates, May I call the English Department Head, Ma'am Joana
Fernandez together with the English faculty members. Please join us here in our stage.

Jessa: Let me read the content of the certificate (Read certificate)

entertained by singing and dancing competition.

Pauline: You know what partner, the students of Ponso National Highschool are truly amazing
and talented. They do not just excel academically but also in other activities such like this.

Jessa: That's right partner. And now we will be once again witnessing another talented students
for the Singing and Dancing Competition.

Pauline: Yes. And I guess they are now more than ready to showcase their talents.
