❖ The grub hoe is the most commonly


used hoe type for land managers. It is
used to cut into the soil in order to cut
weed roots below the soil surface.
❖A spade is a tool used for digging
straight-edged holes or trenches,
slicing and lifting sod, and edging
flower beds or lawns.

❖A shovel is an essential agricultural and


gardening hand tool. It is a multi-purpose tool,
serving various jobs at once. Shovel tool helps

and turning over soil in gardening and farming,
and not to be confused with the pitchfork, a
similar tined tool used for moving (or throwing)

❖ Bolo/ Itak- They had a wide range of


use, from hunting to scything grass,
opening coconuts, harvesting crops, or
clearing dense brush.
❖ Pruning shears or hand pruners, are
heavy-duty scissors specifically designed
to cut plant stems and hard shrub
branches. They're the perfect tools to
have on hand when gardening, farming,
and flower arranging.

❖ An axe is a multi-purpose cutting tool


used for delimbing and felling trees,
splitting logs, and dressing them for
timber conversion.
❖ Knife- It is used in weeding,
transplanting, cutting sod, and dividing
plants. Some garden knives have a
ruler etched into the steel that is useful
for measuring depths when planting
bulbs or seeds.

❖ Scythes were used to manually cut crops


or grass at harvest time. They replaced
sickles and bagging hooks which required
the user to repeatedly bend down low to
cut the crops.

coconuts, harvesting crops, or clearing
dense brush. Most bolos are cheap and
unornamented, with the handle usually
made from plain carabao horn or wood.

❖ Hand forks are sometimes referred to as 'weeding


forks' but they are suited to many jobs around the
garden, such as preparing planting holes,
transplanting, aerating and mixing additives into
your soil and are indispensable for levelling around
border edges and tidying.
❖ A hand cultivator is a gardening tool that is used to
turn the soil where you plan on planting and for
removing weeds. In small flower or vegetable
gardens, it can also be used like a small plow to dig
the planting rows.

❖ Crosscut saw is used for cutting a wood across the
grain. They are used to cut wood logs, plywood,
large timber logs, trees for timber, wood boards,
joists and all other wood work.

❖ Fencing pliers are a type of pliers


designed to install and maintain agricultural
fencing. They're particularly useful for high-

and tools - Screwdrivers are essential for
installing, repairing, and maintaining things
like tractors, tillers, harvesters, etc.

land for subsistence farming. Pulling
attachments like tillers, harrows, or plows to
prepare the soil. Transporting crops, tools, or
other materials around the farm.
❖ Four wheel tractor- Pulling heavy implements
like plows, discs, or cultivators for primary
tillage. Hauling wagons, trailers, or other
equipment around the farm. Powering
stationary equipment like irrigation pumps or
threshers.

ponds, or other sources to irrigate crops and
maintain soil moisture levels.

impurities and prepare them for storage or
sale. Reducing the workload and increasing the
efficiency of the grain harvesting operation.

❖ Seeder- Accurately planting seeds at the
desired depth and spacing for a variety of
crops. Distributing seeds evenly across a
prepared seedbed to ensure uniform
germination.
