➢ A) covering letter

POINTS TO REMEMBER WHILE


PREPARING COVERING LETTER:
• Follow the format of a formal letter.
• Letter should be brief and to the point.
• Divide the content of the letter into three parts:
a) INTRODUCTION: Mention the source from where
you got the information about the vacancy for the post
b) MAIN BODY: Give a brief summary of your
qualifications- Academic & Professional along with
your experience & previous job status.
c) CONCLUSION: Make a reference to Bio Data/CV,
photograph & other details enclosed and express your
wish to attend an interview.
d) Finish the covering letter on a promising and positive
note.
e) Towards the end give a short title- ‘ENCLOSURES’
and list the following: a) Bio Data
b) Copies of certificate
c) Passport sixe photographs

• Do not get confused with words like CV/Resume if mentioned in the question.
• CURRICULUM VITAE (C.V.) is a Latin word meaning "course of life".
The CV presents a full history of your academic credentials, so the length of
the document is variable. In contrast, a resume presents a concise picture of your skills
and qualifications for a specific position, so the length is shorter.
BIO-DATA, the short form for Biographical Data, is the old-fashioned terminology for
Resume or C.V.
