2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

– Observe the requirements of your National Elevator Regulation Code. If there is disagree-
ment between the Code and this instruction, always observe your Code.
– There are dangerous voltages in the main circuits and in the safety circuit. Always take the
necessary safety precautions when working with electrical equipment. If in doubt switch off
the power before making any connections or adjustments.

3 COMMISSIONING OF A FACTORY ADJUSTED DOOR

– Door operators delivered directly from the factory are pre-adjusted.

3.1 Power Supply

– Select the recommended fuse for the nominal voltage range, see table below.

Nominal Supply Voltage Range 127VAC 230VAC 400VAC

Automatic fuse slow, in control 2A 1A 1A

panel

– Line in supply is connected to a Molex plug.

Plug type Molex 3191-6p, earth pin 7423-ATL, pin 4549-T ( see figure 1).

a33522b

Figure 2. Socket for Line In, Voltage Configuration

3.2 Safety Circuit

– The door contacts are prewired to a Molex plug.

– Plug type Molex 3191-6p, earth pin 7423-ATL, pin 4549-T
– Safety contact ratings: Min. 5VDC - Max. 250VAC.

3.3 Driving the doors with the elevator controller

– Connect the signals from the elevator controller to connector X1 of the door operator.
– Check if Service Drive input is OFF (LED SD/X1 must not lit).
– Refer to the project delivery documents for the wiring diagram between the elevator con-
troller and door operator. ( see also connection diagram at the end of this document.
– NOTE: Do not connect +24V from the door operator to the +24V EXT supplied from ele-
vator control.
– If the door is not at the reference switch (near by Close End ) in power up it will move at
low speed as long as the Close End position is found.
– After finding the reference switch the door drive will start with the next open command in
direction open as long as the mechanical end is found. This movement will also be partly
in slow speed.
– Then the door will drive normally in both directions.

ATTENTION: When making control signal voltage measurements use terminal EXT GND
on the door electronic assembly as the reference. This terminal must be
connected to the elevator control signal ground (-/24V for TMS or EPB...).

– Signal ground GND is internally connected to protective earth.

– Check that the safety devices (OpenButton, PhotoCells) reopen the door ( see DIP’s).
– As reopening is controlled by the control panel the elevator must be in normal mode.

3.4 Driving the doors with the service drive buttons, in Service Drive mode only

– The Test Buttons only work when the Service Drive input (SD/X1) is ON. The door is in
Service Mode if the Elevator is in Service mode and the signal is terminated to SD/X1.
– Check that the doors open and close when the test drive buttons are pressed.START-UP OF
A NON PREADJUSTED DOOR (e.g. board replacement from spares)
– The closing force is set to appr. 135N in a spare electronic.
– There are no adjustments necessary to start up the spare electronic.
– DIP switch setting has to be copied from the replaced board.
– Mount the reference switch to the same position like on replaced box.

3.5 Preparation

– Disconnect the line in plug D1 before making any electrical connections.

– Disconnect all cables from electronic.
– Remove the drive electronic physically and place the new drive electronic.
– Make all the connections for the new drive electronic. End up with the line in plug D1.

4 START UP OF SPARE ELECTRONICS

– Switch power on.

– Now the door must be driven in close direction by Test Drive Button ( Note: Service Drive
input must be set ).
– If the door moves in the wrong direction the drive electronic detects a fault and stops the
door movement immediatly - the red STATE LED is flashing twice. You have to exchange
the two motor wires on connector X4.
– Now the learning of door width is done during 8 consecutive full door width movement
cycles.

4.1 Adjusting the close force

– Open and close the door manually and check that there are no mechanical obstructions.
– The Test Buttons only function when the Service Drive input (SERV. DRIVE / X1) is set.

The Closing Force will increase by

turning the potentiometer clockwise!

Drive the door with the close button

(or close command) to the close di-
rection and adjust the closing force.

a33522d

Figure 4. Close Force Potentiometer

NOTE: Adjustment must be done by use of force measuring device

– Put a force measuring device between the closing door panels (centre opening) or between
door panel and slam post (side opening)
– Do not attempt to measure the force of a moving door, stop it first!

NOTE:

For centre opening the measuring

device will show half of the actu-
al close force.

For side opening the measuring

device will show the actual close
force.

4.2 Adjustment of the speed

The drive electronic offer to select one out of four different speed levels (for handicap elevators
or other purpose).
Look at DIP-SWITCH description.

7 TROUBLESHOOTING

7.1 The door does not move

7.1.1 The door does not move at all

– Check that the power is ON. POWER LED must be lit if LINE IN is connected and the cir-
cuit breaker in the elevator control panel is ON .
– Check that the motor wires are connected (plug X4).
– Check that lift control interface is powered by EXTERNAL 24V, LED +24V EXT must lit.
– Check that the control panel is giving an Open or Close command (16-17/X1) LED H1,
H2.
– Check LED STATE - if it flashes then an error is present -> see Error Table section 7.5
– Check WATCHDOG LED , switch OFF/ON or replace board in case it lits.

7.1.2 The door does not open

– Check that the OPEN COMMAND LED H2 is lit when an active open command is
present.
– Check that a close command (17/X1, Led H1) is not active (LOW). A close command
overrides an open command.
– Check that the landing door lock is not jammed.

7.1.3 The door does not close

– Check that the CLOSE COMMAND LED H1 lits (17/X1) is active (LOW).
– The closing force may be too low (or friction too high). Turn CLOSE FORCE potentiome-
ter slightly clockwise to increase the force.

7.1.4 The door only partly opens or closes

– Check that the open and close signal times (Led H1, H2) from the elevator controller are
long enough.
– If the door moves in the wrong direction the drive electronic detects a fault and stops the
door movement immediatly - the red STATE LED is flashing twice and a reset is done -
LED WATCHDOG flashes. You have to exchange the two motor wires on connector X4.

7.2 The door does not reopen

– To reopen the door the elevator controller must receive either a REOPEN REQUEST sig-
nal from the door electronics or from an independently wired safety device (e.g. Photocell
or COL...)
– For reopening to occur the elevator controller must remove the close command and acti-
vate the open command.

ATTENTION: Check the following reopening devices

– Open Button (if wired to terminal 14/X1)
– Photocell (if wired to terminal 44/X15)
– Closing Force Limiter ( reopen request output)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION AM-03.35.022
Page: 9

7.3 Faults causing reset or shut down of electronic

– Short circuit current is flowing in the powerstage unit

– Encoder supervision against short circuit, opens and missing signals
– Watchdog for µController - controller or program fault.
– Low voltage protection (<18VDC), supply is measured and power stage is shut down

7.4 Faults decreasing performance of door

– Motor and power stage temperature supervision. This reduces the power in motor and
power stage, if temperature is nevertheless exceeding a higher limit, power stage is shut
down, for cooling down a certain time.
– Faulty reference switch, always closed or open.

7.5 Error Table (STATE Led flash codes)

– If an error is present then the STATE Led flashes an error code. It flashes in the following
matter: LED error code(flashes)- delay(Led off) - LED error code(flashes) .....
So you can read out the error code by counting the flashes between two longer dark phases
of the LED.

LED flashes Fault Door performes following

Action
1 time Encoder or Motor fault RESET
2 times Wrong motor direction RESET
3 times Powerstage overheated STOP for cooling down
4 times Motor overheated STOP for cooling down
5 times Refswitch error SLOW MOVE
6 times Motor temperature sensor broken SLOW MOVE
