usual multiplication. Discuss the order of the group.

25. Show that a non empty subset H of a group G is a subgroup of G if ab−1 ∈ H


whenever a and b are in H.

26. Find all subgroups of Z18 and give their subgroup diagram.

27. Prove that every permutation of a finite set is a product of disjoint cycles.

28. Show that for every subgroup H of Sn for n ≥ 2, either all the permutations in H
are even or exactly half of them are even.

29. Exhibit the left cosets and right cosets of the subgroup 3Z of Z

30. Let G be a group of order pq, where p and q are prime numbers. Show that every
