Slide 2: Let us begin with the proponent/s

It is difficult to pinpoint as it was a gradual development rather than a single

invention. CALL emerged from the convergence of computer technology and
language teaching methodologies. However, several key figures and
institutions played significant roles in its evolution like Mark Warschauer: the
early pioneers were the educators and researchers in the mid-20th century
who began experimenting with using computers for language teaching, we
also have the language teaching professionals who worked tirelessly to
adapt traditional language teaching methods to fit the digital age. So while
there is no single “father of CALL”, these individuals collectively contributed
to the growth and development of this field.
