1. Explain this statement: “Your philosophy of education is reflected in your dealings with
students, colleagues, parents, and administrators. Your attitude towards problems and
lifee as a whole has an underlying philosophy.” (20)
My philosophy of education is the basis and perspective I followed so that I can deal with my
students and co-workers correctly and with good manners and intentions. The statement above
tells us that we all have a philosophy that become a reflection of how we think and how we do on
something. It serves us our guide that we follow that we can practice and utilize for a better result.
As William Burrough quoted “the aim of education is the knowledge, not of facts, but of values”,
where the education we have can be seen not only in the extent of the knowledge we have but
also in our behavior and the way we treat other people.
In addition, we all experience adversity and face different challenges in life, but how we deal
with each of these trials and problems depends on the philosophy and attitude we have on how to
overcome them. One of the famous philosophy I believe is “when you learn to survive without
anyone, you can survive anything”, is how I view problems and trials in life. I believe that God will
not give us a problem or trial that we cannot solve or overcome. It just depends on us how we look
at these problems and how are we going to act on it.
2. As a teacher, how do you facilitate the development of every child to the optimum and
to the maximum? (20)
As what Ann Landers quoted “it is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught
them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings” is what the philosophy I
have on how I will facilitate the development of every child to their optimum and maximum. As a
future teacher, I believe that it is my responsibility to prepare them to be an efficient and productive
individual. I believe that everyone is unique and that they are capable of learning but do not learn at
the same rate, and therefore should be viewed as individuals who can contribute to the classroom,
sharing and gaining knowledge from each other.
I will not only teach my students how to write or read, but I will teach them to think critically, to be
creative, to learn to be responsible and to lead them so that they know the right behavior to treat
others with dignity and self-esteem. I will also make sure that each of my students will be treated
correctly and equally whatever their race, belief, religion or state in life and to be a good example and
model to them which is one of a good behavior that a person should possess.
And lastly, I will be the motivation for my students so that they will be ready to face every trial in
their lives, will encourage them in lifelong learning and will inspire them to love and appreciate what
they have learned and that they will have a great benefit to their society. Sydney Harris once said “the
purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows”. Education opens windows, where it provides

the means and knowledge to achieve success in life and for every student to achieve this, we
teachers play a big role to help, lead and guide them to this success.
3. Give four (4) ways to become a better and successful teacher and explain how you will
apply this in the online teaching and learning environment? (40)
I believe that a good teacher, all my effort, dedication and love should be wholeheartedly given
and devoted to my students and to my teaching as a whole. This way my students will feel my
passion and hard work in teaching them. When a teacher aim, strive hard and exert effort for the
students, students will show their interest and will put in their effort as well.
One way to become a better and successful teacher is to greet every student everyday and thank
them for attending the class. I believe it is good to start the day inside the classroom greeting each
student. This simple approach has a profound effect on our students to engage in the classroom and
their behavior towards others. Now that we are still in the pandemic and platform in teaching is
through online, it is important that we first greet our students and find out their situation before we
deliver our lessons to them. In this way, we can know if our students are in good condition or are
going through a difficult or bad situation so that we also know how to extend our help to them. And of
course from the very beginning and before the end of the class, it is good that I thank them for
attending the class. I do not know what situation they have but to take the time to listen to me is very
pleasant and overwhelming and in return I will thank them wholeheartedly.
Another way for me to become a better and successful teacher is to help and teach my students
how to follow instructions and show them the perseverance that I should possess as their teacher.
Following instructions is one of the important abilities we must practice in our daily lives. As we teach
them this ability we can help them practice proper obedience, can help them to execute skills
correctly and enhance their memory and learning. Since we are online class, it is not easy to teach
them instructions in front of the computer, others may have a weak internet connection, so it is
important that I have a long patience to teach them properly and for them to follow correctly. If
necessary, I will focus on them for a long time and even teach them over and over again, I will do until
they get it and learn it right.
Another of the ways I will make to be a better and successful teacher is to make my lesson more
fun and make them feel less stressful. In life, there is no need to always be serious, there are also
times and opportunities to enjoy and have fun, the same goes for teaching. Due to the proliferation of
Covid-19 many challenges have been changed and we face, one that is in the study or learning of the
students, from face to face became online class which we know is not an easy task. It requires
learning new skills and adopting a new approach and because of this, it is better for me to make this
teaching fun and interesting to my students. And since we are an online class, the use of technology
is very important. I will shorten the long readings because it is difficult to read in front of a computer or
laptop, I will create online activities or games that will enhance the abilities and skills of my students, I
will provide movies or videos that they can watch which are related to our topics, I will laugh with

them and will talk funny things that can help create fun and alive in class and will encourage them to
participate actively in the class.
And lastly, I will ask feedback from my students and will not put pressure on them. As a teacher it
is important that I know the way I have taught from my students and from my other colleagues. In this
way, I can improve more on the way I teach, I will have more knowledge of what else I can do and
add in my strategies and approaches and I will be able to provide a clearer and easier way to teach
my students. Because we are in a pandemic and it is not that easy to teach through online. I will not
pressure my students especially in passing the assignments or activities they have to do because
others may have difficulty when it comes to the gadgets and connections they use. I also know that
others are not that good at using online applications and they are just gradually learning about it. As
their teacher, these are the things I want to know about them so that I can adjust well according to the
needs of my students.
4. Give two (2) standards of good teaching in the Philippines based on the seven (7)
domains. (20)
