Project Submission Guideline
Course Title: Digital Signal Processing I Sessional Course Code: EEE-3604
Total Marks: 100 (will be converted into 30)
1. Project/Problem Specifications:
You have to identify and formulate a complex engineering problem which will require in depth
knowledge of Digital Signal Processing. Design solutions of the problem, conduct investigation
and analyze the result. The problem must address the following P’s.
✓ P1 (Depth of knowledge required): Cannot be resolved without in-depth engineering
knowledge at the level of one or more of K3, K4, K5, K6, or K6 which allows a
fundamentals-based, first principles analytical approach.
✓ P3 (Depth of analysis required): Have no obvious solution and require abstract thinking,
originality in analysis to formulate encountered issues.
✓ P2 (Conflicting Requirements): The problem should involve conflicting technical
requirements .
or,
P4 (Familiarity issues): Involve infrequently encountered issues.
2. Formation of team/group:
It should be a team work. Each group/team must have 2-3 members.
3. Assessment
3.1 Presentation (50 Marks- will be converted into 15)
Every team must present their work through a formal presentation. They will get maximum of 8
min time to complete their presentation. The presentation slide should have following points-
• Title Slide
• Introduction/Background
• Objectives
• Methodology (how you solved the problem)
• Result and Analysis
• Conclusion
The rubric of evaluating the presentation is given below-
Level of Achievement and % of marks

4. Report (50 Marks-will be converted into 15):

Every team must submit a report on their project work. The report should have the following points-

i) 𝘾𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙚:

You must include a coverage containing the information such as Name of University & Dept.,
Course title & code, Student information (name, matric ID, Sec), Project information (Name of
Project, Date of assign, date of submission), information of the course teacher (name and
designation) etc.
ii) 𝙊𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨:

The objectives should start with "To know...." or 'To learn.... ' or ‘To verify….’ or ‘To be familiar…’,
‘To understand….’, ‘To perform….’ etc . It is preferable to write by points rather than a paragraph.
Objectives should be more specific based on the topics of experiment.

iii) Formulation of Problem:

Here you should include the followings-

• A short description of project with specification/needs and constraints

• Which P’s are addressed (Justify how this work is a complex engineering problem)?: To
justify WP1 you need to explain which knowledge profile (WK3-WK8) are incorporated
to solve this problem. To justify WP2, you need to find all the technical requirements of
the problem and also find the conflicting technical parameters. To justify WP3, you need
to discuss the possible methods of solving your problem and identify the most
appropriate method of solving your problem. To justify WP4, you need to find the
infrequently encountered issues involved with your problem.
iv) Methodology:
You have to discuss the procedure/method about how you solve the problem.

v) Investigation (Result/Analysis):

This section is very important. Test your developed system and find results. You have to verify your
objectives by analyzing the results.

vi) Conclusion:
Summarize your result and compare the result with other possible solutions (if any). Also, discuss the
possible applications, limitations, future development etc.

vii) Appendix:

You must include your developed program in this section.

The rubric of evaluating the report is given below-
