TFT Display, Touch and SD Card are three different SPI devices that share one
SPI bus. MOSI and MISO are data in and data out routes while
the device is selected via the chipselect. So each SPI device has an own CS Pin
but they all share MOSI, MISO and CLK.
GPIO18, GPIO19 and GPIO23 have three wires connected to each of them.
The motion PCB takes care of it and provides a PIN for each jumper wire.
If the machine is build without the G-EDM motion PCB it is possible to solder
some jumper wires together to create a
3x female to 1x female adapter.
GPIO36, GPIO39 (on/off and limit switch pins) are input only pins without
internal pulldown features.
They need an external 100k pulldown resistor. One leg to the pin
and one to GND.
They also need a small ceramic capacitor to smoothen out the
noise. 0.1uf
The spindle stepper uses GPIO1 as DIR Pin. This was due to the lack of other
output GPIOs.
This means that any UART needs to be fully disabled. Serial/Uart communication
changes the state of this pin.
Since it is just a spindle it is possible to clip off the DIR pin on the TMC
driver too.
In the future this may change. For example MS1 and MS2 for Z is not really used
anymore. Those two Pins would allow some more flexibility.
Using fixed microsteps may be the best way.
Also I haven't tested the GPIO1 as DIR pin yet since debugging the code needs
massive communication and
I just don't have the time to remove all the debug stuff. I clipped off the DIR
leg. :D
The Pulsboard PWM GND/OUT is connected to the ESP GND Pin too. It is a shared
GND between Pulseboard and Motionboard.
There are in total three wires connected between ESP and Pulsboard:
