The Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University is organizing National Conference on “Current Trends in
Pharmaceuticals” in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Tamil Nadu State Branch). This is in

National Pharmacy Week Celebration


The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) regularly organizes the National Pharmacy Week (NPW) during
the third week of November every year with a theme to promote the profession during the entire year. The
purpose of this activity is to make all stakeholders such as patients, health care professionals, state and central
governments, regulators, policymakers, students, citizens of our nation to become aware about not only the
presence of pharmacists but also to know the role played by registered pharmacists with their expertise on
medicines, their usage, handling and dispensing. This achievement of pharma industries was made possible by
the silent contribution of pharmacist working in various field of pharma chain right from Innovation, Production,
Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory, Marketing and dispensing medicines to patients. The theme
chosen for NPW-2024 is “Think Health, Think Pharmacy”, with an aim to give attention in bringing awareness on
public health and to avoid dangerous drug interactions, adverse health effects and prevent or minimize potential
problems with medication safety.
