Course name: Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering
Course code: EPCE2101 Group Assignment I: 5%
Submission Date: 22-11-2024
Instructions:
• Answer all of the following questions.
• Make your answers clear and readable.
• Maximum number of students in one group: 5
Questions
1. Find the current flowing through an element if the charge flow is given by:
a. q ( t ) = (15e −3t − 2e −18t ) nC

b. q ( t ) = 2e −3t sin ( 20 t ) C

2. The current through an element is shown in the following figure. Determine the total charge
that passed through the element at
a. t = 1s, b. t = 3s c. t = 5s

3. Obtain v1, v2 and v3 in the circuit given below using nodal analysis.

4. Obtain Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits at terminals a-b for the circuit below. And
calculate the maximum power can be delivered if a load is connected at the terminals.

5. Assume that the switch in the following circuit has been in position A for a long time and is
moved to position B at t = 0. Then at t = 1 second, the switch moves from B to C. Find the
voltage across the capacitor, v(t) for t > 1.

6. For the network shown below, find v(t) for t > 0.
