Good morning everyone!

I'm Ridhanya. My presentation revolves around the exploration of the diversity within computing
devices, specifically focusing on the various types of computers."

Today, we're diving into the world of computers. But before we start exploring the different types, let's
understand what a computer really is.

 A computer is like a magic box that takes in data, processes it according to instructions given by
us, and then gives out useful information. It's made up of many parts like the brain called the
CPU, memory for storing data, various input devices like keyboards and mice, and output
devices like monitors and printers.

Now, why is it important to know about the different types of computers? Well, let me tell you a few
reasons:

 Matching Needs with Capabilities: Different tasks require different types of computers.
 Optimizing Performance: Choosing the right computer can make tasks faster and more efficient.
 Staying Updated with Technology: Technology is always changing, and knowing about different
types of computers helps us stay ahead.
 Enhancing Productivity and Efficiency: Using the right computer can make our work easier and
faster.
 Enabling Innovation: Understanding different types of computers can spark new ideas and
innovations.

Now, let's dive into the main topic: the types of computers. There are two main ways we can categorize
them: based on their size and based on how they handle data.(Have a look on the slide and read the
types ritzz)

Move on to the first category Based on Size:

 First one is Supercomputer: These are huge and incredibly powerful, used for tasks like weather
forecasting and scientific simulations.
 Mainframe Computer: Big and robust, they're used by large organizations for managing vast
amounts of data.
 Minicomputer: Smaller and cost lesser than mainframes but still powerful, often used in
scientific research and engineering.
 Workstation Computer: Designed for professional use, like graphic design or video editing.
 Personal Computer: The one you probably have at home or school, used for everyday tasks like
browsing the internet or writing essays.

Next part on the basis of Data Handling Capabilities:

 First one is Analog Computer: Deals with continuous data and is used in specialized fields like
engineering and physics.
 Digital Computer: Deals with discrete data and is what we commonly use for everyday tasks. It
stores data in numerical form and process it.
 Hybrid Computer: Combines the features of analog and digital computers for specialized tasks.
For example, it is used in hospitals to monitor patients’ heartbeats.

Finally have a look on the emergence of a new breed of computers:

 Wearable computers. These are electronic devices designed to be worn on the body or
integrated into clothing and accessories, offering computing capabilities on the move. Examples
include smart watches, augmented reality glasses, and smart clothing.

 Another category of emerging computers is IoT devices, short for Internet of Things. These are
physical objects embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies, allowing them to
connect to the internet, gather and exchange data, and perform tasks autonomously. Examples
of IoT devices include smart home gadgets, connected appliances, wearable health monitors,
and industrial IoT devices."

And that's it! Understanding these different types of computers can help us choose the right one for our
needs and also appreciate the amazing diversity in the world of computing.
