Main PCB ASSY Reset Procedure
1. Outline
This procedure describes how to reset Main PCB ASSY.

2. Prepare
Use the following driver and application to reset Main PCB ASSY.
- Maintenance driver
- MemoryAccessTool.exe
- MainPCBReset.exe

Install the “Maintenance driver”, “MemoryAccessTool.exe” and “MainPCBReset.exe” to PC.


* The install procedure of Maintenance driver, please see the "APPENDIX 2 INSTALLING THE
MAINTENACE DRIVER" in the service manual.

3. Reset Procedure
3-1. bizhub 4000i/5000i
3-1-1. Method of entering maintenance mode for service personnel.
Press the [OK] key and then the [Go] key while the machine is in the ready state.
Then, press the [▲], [▲], [▼], [▼], [▲], [▲] key to enter the maintenance mode.

3-1-2. Set the Maintenance driver as a default printer.

3-1-3. Connect the machine to PC using the USB cable.

3-1-4. Start the “MemoryAccessTool.exe”.

3-1-5. Click the [Execute], and then wait more than 5 sec.

3-1-6. Close the “MemoryAccessTool” screen.

3-1-7. Start the “MainPCBReset.exe”, and then wait more than 5 sec.
Check the counter as following procedure.
1) Press the [▲] or [▼] key on the Maintenance mode and select the [MAINTENANCE77]
and press the [OK] key.
2) Check the clear of error history and another counter. (See the following image)
3) Click the [X].

3-2-1. Method of entering maintenance mode for service personnel.
Press and hold the [Home] key for approximately 5 sec
while the machine is in the ready state. The display
shown on the right appears on the LCD.

3-2-2. Press the blank field at the bottom. The display shown
on the right appears on the LCD.

3-2-3. Press the [*], [0], [0], [0], [0], [0], [0] keys in this order.
The display shown on the right appears on the LCD,
and the machine enters into maintenance mode.

3-2-4. Set the Maintenance driver as a default printer.

3-2-5. Connect the machine to PC using the USB cable.

3-2-6. Start the “MemoryAccessTool.exe”.

3-2-7. Click the [Execute], and then wait more than 5 sec.

3-2-8. Close the “MemoryAccessTool”.

3-2-9. Start the “MainPCBReset.exe”, and then wait more than 5 sec.
Check the counter as following procedure.
1) Press the [7], [7] key on the Maintenance mode.
2) Check the clear of error history and another counter. (See the following image).
