SOME
We use “ SOME “ with positive sentences with both countable and uncountable nouns and
questions but we use more positive sentences. Example: There are some potatoes. Can you
have some water?
ANY
We use “ any” with negative sentences with both countable and uncountable nouns and
questions but we use more negative sentences . Example: We haven’t any bananas. Are There
any tomates?

A Lot of
We use “ a Lot of “ for affirmative and negative sentences and questions with both countable
and uncountable nouns to talk the big quantity of something.
Example : I eat a lot of fish. I don’t have a lot of money.
MUCH
We use “ much” for negative sentences and questions with uncountable nouns. Example :
I don’t eat much salt.
Do you have much money?
MANY
We use “ Many” for negative sentences and questions with both countable nouns.
Example : I don’t eat many bananas.
Do you have many Books?
