PDF).

1.4 SIMULATOR TRAINING

Training in normal and abnormal procedures and maneuvers shall emphasis on:

a) PF/PM duties and task sharing, including transfer of aircraft control;

b) Consistent checklist philosophy.
c) Emphasis on prioritization of tasks (“Aviate, Navigate, Communicate”);
d) Proper use of all levels of automation.
e) Manual handling skills and appropriate automation skills;
f) SOP and Company procedures
1.4.1 Reporting Time Before Simulator Training.

1.4.2 Tolerances for Skill Tests and Proficiency Checks

(Appendix 9 to LYCAR-FCL (b) (3).)

Height
Generally, ± 100 feet
Starting a go-around at decision height + 50 feet/– 0 feet
Minimum descent height/altitude + 50 feet/– 0 feet
half scale deflection, azimuth and glide path (e.g. LPV,
For “angular” deviations
ILS, MLS, GLS)

3D linear vertical deviations (e.g. Not more than – 75 feet below the vertical profile at any
RNP APCH (LNAV/VNAV) using time, and not more than + 75 feet above the vertical
Baro-VNAV profile at or below 1 000 feet above aerodrome level

Tracking
Tracking on radio aids ± 5°
Cross track error/deviation shall normally be limited to ±
2D (LNAV) and 3D (LNAV/VNAV) ½ the RNP value associated with the procedure. Brief
“linear” deviations deviations from this standard up to a maximum of 1 time
the RNP value are allowable.
Heading
all engines operating ± 5°
with simulated engine failure ± 10°
Speed
all engines operating ± 5 knots
with simulated engine failure + 10 knots/– 5 knots

1.4.3 Grading System

Grading Description
Failure to perform the duties of the role or meet the standard
1: Unsatisfactory
required( Trainee unable to progress).
Performance and ability below minimum safety requirements
2: Poor
(further training required)
Performance and ability are barely sufficient for safe
3: Minimum Acceptable operation(Errors and weak points to be debriefed and
emphasized).
Ability and performance are up to the standard operating
4: Standard
procedures.
Performance and ability exceed trainee level or trainee
5: Excellent implement optimal solution for appropriate requirements with
minimal time waste
1.4.4 Form Filling Instructions
