Abstract
This project focuses on developing a predictive model to analyze and forecast student
performance in a B.Tech Computer Science course. Utilizing machine learning algorithms,
such as Decision Trees, Support Vector Machines, and Random Forest, the model aims to
predict students' academic outcomes based on various features, including attendance, internal
assessment scores, and demographic factors.
The primary objective is to identify students at risk of poor performance early in the
academic year, enabling timely interventions. The data-driven approach involves collecting
and preprocessing student data, selecting relevant features, and training multiple machine
learning models to determine the most accurate predictive algorithm.
Our analysis shows that the Random Forest algorithm provides the highest accuracy in
predicting final exam scores. The project also explores the importance of different features,
offering insights into which factors most significantly impact student performance.
The outcomes of this project can aid educational institutions in enhancing student support
services, personalizing learning experiences, and ultimately improving overall academic
success rates.
