a) Switch.

A network device that connects multiple devices in a LAN and uses

MAC addresses to forward data to the appropriate destination.
b) Virtual LAN.
A logical group of devices within a LAN that allows devices to
communicate as if they were on the same physical network, even if
they are not.
c) Types of Network.
 LAN (Local Area Network): Covers a small area such as a home or
office.
 MAN (Metropolitan Area Network): Covers a city or campus.
 WAN (Wide Area Network): Covers large geographical areas, such
as the internet.
a) Proxy Server
Acts as an intermediary between a client and the internet, often
used for anonymity, security, or content filtering.
b) Fiber optic cable
A high-speed data transmission medium that uses light to transmit
data over long distances with minimal loss.
c) IP addressing
 A numerical label assigned to each device on a network, used for
identification and communication.
 Types: IPv4 (32-bit) and IPv6 (128-bit).
d) Topology
 The physical or logical arrangement of a network.
 Types: Star, Bus, Ring, Mesh, Hybrid.
a) Modes of Communication.
 Simplex: One-way communication.
 Half-Duplex: Two-way communication, but only one direction at
a time.
 Full-Duplex: Two-way communication simultaneously.
b) Bluetooth Architecture.
Consists of:

 Core Protocols: Handles basic operations.

 Link Manager Protocol (LMP): Manages links and connections.
 Host Controller Interface (HCI): Provides an interface between
hardware and software.
C) MAC sublayer with it's Frame Format.
 The Media Access Control (MAC) sublayer controls how devices access
the physical medium and transmit data.
 Frame Format includes fields like:

 Preamble
 Destination and Source MAC Addresses
 Type/Length
 Payload
 CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check).
d) Copyright.
A legal right that grants the creator of original work exclusive rights
to its use and distribution, typically for a limited time.

c) ISO-OSI Reference model.
 A conceptual framework to understand network interactions.
 Layers:

1. Physical
2. Data Link
3. Network
4. Transport
5. Session
6. Presentation
7. Application
d) Line - of – sight
A type of communication or connection where signals are
transmitted directly between points without obstruction, commonly
used in microwave and satellite communications.
