AT THE PALACE

Knight 1: King! My King! It seems that an individual was murdered in an alleyway near the
central capital.

Knight 2: His body has been brutally stabbed 20 times!

King: Oh Lord! Have we any suspects or, perchance, a clue who may have partaken in such a
dastardly deed?

Knight: Yes, my dear Lord! I have some ideas for who may have committed such an atrocious
act.

CLIP 1 SHOWS SUSPECT NUMBER ONE

VOICE OVER: DUKE SHAON OF WHISTEDAM

CLIP 2 SHOWS SUSPECT NUMBER 2

VOICE OVER: Random suspicious citizen

CLIP 3 SHOWS SUSPECT 3

VOICE OVER: LASTLY

King: Excellent. Present the three suspects to me, so my wise brain can decide who is the most
likely culprit.
(Since he's narcissistic and has a tall pride as a King)

Servant: I suggest we interview the witnesses, My Lord…

King: Of course, I have thought of that! Bring them in!

> Knight pushes the 3 suspects in, hands tied.

> Suspect two kneeled and pulled the pants of the king.

Suspect 2: Your Majesty, I swear my innocence! I did not commit the crime! I am a man of God,
I could never commit such an atrocity!

King: Does your God have a crown?

Suspect 2: He owns not only one but plenty, endlessly! He is the king of all kin—

King: SILENCE! I am the only king here, I am God!

King: Oh <raise eyebrow> Look who we have here, Duke Shaon of Whistedam. I must say, my
expectations have always been rather low for you. Therefore, I wouldn't even be surprised if you
were the perpetrator of this heinous crime.

Duke: Your Majesty, I understand your skepticism, but I assure you, I am a loyal servant of the
crown and would never do anything to besmirch the name of the royal family!

King: How do I know you did not commit the dreadful deed?

> Duke looks around

Duke: For I know the beggar did it!

(King’s inside voice): How mortifying. He’s not wrong, a filthy beggar would be more
convincing.

Beggar: Your Majesty, all I've done in my life is plead for my life. My life may be impoverished,
but I would never commit such a crime! Believe me, King, Please, Please!
King: That's what everyone says. Knights, take him to the palace's balcony, then bind him and
gag him if necessary. If need be cut out his tongue. I do not like the sound of the fellow's voice. It
annoys me very much.

Beggar: Oh, My King! I swear to heaven I did not do it! I am simply a beggar asking for bread;
Please spare me! Have mercy on me, My Lord!

> Knights take him out.

King: Dear citizens of our realm, heed my words! A vile deed has transpired, and I, your
sovereign, shall not rest until the malefactor is unmasked before our eyes. With unwavering
conviction, I decree that the destitute beggar, known for his lowly station and desperate pleas, is
the architect of this heinous act!

Citizen 1: Pray tell, Your Majesty, how can we be certain of such a claim?

King: Place your trust in my discernment, for I am the rightful steward of our domain. The
beggar's culpability is beyond question, and it falls upon my shoulders to safeguard you from
such nefarious elements.

Servant: My liege, forgive my interruption, but I cannot shake the feeling that something is
amiss. Is it not possible that there is more to this than meets the eye?

King: (with a hint of disdain) Silence, my faithful servant! Your place is not to question, but to
serve. Recall your allegiance, lest you invite peril upon yourself.

Servant: Of course, Your Majesty. I humbly beg your pardon for overstepping my bounds.

King: (smirking) A prudent decision. Let us proceed with alacrity. The beggar must answer
for his transgressions and our realm must be cleansed of his pernicious influence with
haste.

(The beggar screams for help, as he gets hit and hurt by the king)

Servant: (the servant watched with guilt in his eyes) M-My Ki-

King: (glares angrily at her) i thought i made myself clear, you are to keep your mouth shut
unless you wanna join the beggar
Servant: (looks away scared, but as the torment of the beggar ringed in their ears they
decided to take up arms against the king)

Servant: (with courage in their eyes, they yelled to the citizens) People of our realm, heed
my proclamation! The true culprit stands not among the downtrodden but within the
hallowed halls of power.

(pause)

King: (enraged) How dare you pin this lowly beggar's deeds onto me! Knights seize this
traitorous servant

(the knights push down the servant, restraining and preventing them from talking any
further)

King: (out of breath and slightly flustered) My dear citizens don't listen to such baseless
proclamations of a traitorous servant...

(the king pauses and notices the murmurs of the citizens)

Citizen 2: (aghast) Unthinkable... The King, an agent of darkness?

Citizen 3: (horrified) We cannot suffer such tyranny to persist!

Citizen 1: (resolute) Long live the servant! Long live justice and the light of truth!

King: How could you all trust what that low-life servant stated? I am your King, and my
words are superior to all of you. They only eat bread; I consume wealth! My god. My
strength is greater than a mountain and my words are more fearful than a hurricane. This
servant of thine cannot even touch me. With one breath of my mouth, I can blow over this
whole palace.

citizens throw things at him

All citizens: Take him out, take him out!

(the knights seeing this, releases the servant)

Servant: (stands strong in front of the citizens) Let this be the genesis of a new epoch for our
realm. With truth as our beacon and integrity as our armor, we shall mend the fractures of our
society and fashion a future brimming with promise and equity. Release the beggar for she
had done nothing wrong.

Servant: (looks down at the king) my king, i am not like you, i won't let you suffer or release
from your shackles with death, but i do believe in justice, knights seize the king

King: (cries for mercy) please, *servants name* ill do anything, you can have all my power,
my wealth... ANYTHING!

(the knights seized and locked up the evil king, with new hope and justice served the
kingdom's future seemed so much brighter)
