Teachers’ day Toast

Respected Sister Principal, Mother Superior, Vice principals, heads of the departments and
professors and our loving students..
a pleasant afternoon to one and all present here..

I personally consider this opportunity to toast as a sacred one. At this juncture I gladly
remembering my own teachers who guided me and inspired me, challenged me and ignited
passion for the better future. I am always grateful to them.

I do offer my special prayers and wishes to all the teachers of our college… Teachers, may
this special day remind you how much you are appreciated and valued for your guidance,
dedication, and passion for teaching. Your impact on students' lives is immeasurable, and
your hard work does not go unnoticed. Thank you for being inspiring mentors! As
Deuteronomy 32:2 says, “Let your teaching fall like rain and your words descend like dew,
like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.”

I congratulate the organizers of this day and the students who have performed colourful
cultural items on the stage. Thank you, dear students, for your time and efforts in preparing
the cultural and performing it neatly…

Dear students, the college days are the time of immense growth, learning, and self-discovery.
It’s a journey filled with challenges, but also incredible opportunities.
As a Teacher of 21 years, I would like to share few points for the better student hood.

The first point is: Believe in Yourself

First and foremost in your life is, believe in yourself. You are capable of achieving great
things.
Believing in yourself is foundational to achieving success and pursuing your dreams. It
means having confidence in your abilities and trusting your potential to overcome
challenges.

When you believe in yourself, you are more likely to take risks, persevere through setbacks,
and stay focused on your goals. Remember that self-belief fuels motivation and resilience,
empowering you to push past self-doubt and negativity.
Jessica Jayaraj's story is a powerful example of believing in oneself. Despite facing
numerous obstacles, including societal expectations and financial hardships, she pursued her
passion for dance and education. Her relentless determination and self-belief allowed her to
overcome these challenges and become a successful dance educator and entrepreneur in
India. Jessica emphasizes that believing in oneself is crucial for achieving dreams and
inspiring others.

The second point I would like to point out is: Set Your Goals High
Set your goals high and don’t be afraid to dream big. Whether it’s excelling in your studies,
pursuing a passion, or making a difference in your community, aim for the stars. Your
dreams are valid and achievable.
one inspiring example is that of Dr. Kiran Bedi, the first woman to join the Indian Police
Service (IPS). Born in a middle-class family, Dr. Bedi faced significant challenges in
pursuing her education and career. However, her determination led her to excel academically
and professionally. She set high goals for herself, not just in her career but also in bringing
about social change.
Remember to reflect on your own goals regularly, assess your progress, and remain
adaptable in your journey toward achieving them.

The third point is: Overcome Challenges

Challenges are a part of life, but they are also opportunities for growth. When you encounter
setbacks, don’t be discouraged. Instead, see them as lessons that will make you stronger and
more resilient. Every challenge you overcome is a step closer to your goals.
Overcoming challenges in college life is a significant part of personal growth and
development. By developing effective strategies, seeking support, and maintaining a positive
mindset, students can navigate these challenges successfully and make the most of their
college experience.

I would like to introduce a girl who got married at her childhood and lost her husband before
13 years old… She is none other than Mother Annammal who is the founder of St. Anne’s
Congregation which is shelter for many poor, weak, marginalised and destitute young
women, particularly widows. This girl annammal suffered a lot because she was a widow..
She started teaching small biblical stories to the marginalized people and helping the sick
when the society suffered by Cholera. At present, more than 900 sisters are carrying on her
mission by rendering committed and dedicated service to widows, women, female children,
orphans, tribal, differently abled and others.

The four point would be: Support Each Other

Lift each other up. Celebrate your friend’s successes and be there during tough times.
Together, you can achieve so much more. Remember, you are not alone on this journey.
The story of Indian woman Arunima Sinha exemplifies this beautifully. Arunima faced a
life-altering challenge when she was pushed from a train by robbers, resulting in the loss of
her leg. Instead of succumbing to her circumstances, she received immense support from
friends, family, and a community of mountaineers who encouraged her spirit. With their
help, Arunima not only regained her strength but also achieved an extraordinary feat by
becoming the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest. Her story showcases how
mutual support can empower individuals to overcome adversity and reach new heights
together.

The last point is: Take Care of Yourself…

Your mental and physical well-being are crucial. Make time for self-care, seek help when
needed, and never underestimate the power of a positive mindset.
Taking care of yourself is essential for personal growth and well-being. Consider the
inspiring story of an Indian woman, a single mother who faced numerous challenges after
the loss of her husband. Amidst her struggles, she prioritized self-care, realizing that to
support her children, she needed to be in a good mental and physical state. She began her
journey by dedicating time each day to exercise, meditate, and pursue a hobby she loved—
painting. This not only improved her health but also sparked joy in her life. Over time, she

became an advocate for women’s health, mentoring other mothers to embrace the
importance of self-care. Her story highlights that nurturing oneself isn't selfish; it empowers
us to better care for others.

By incorporating these values into your life, you can develop the skills, attitudes, and character
traits that will help you thrive in any situation. Remember, success is not just about achieving your
goals; it's also about living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Remember, your teachers are here to support and guide you. Take advantage of their knowledge and
experience, and strive to be the best version of yourself.

dear students, as you embark on your journey of growth and self-discovery, remember that
the power to succeed lies within you. Believe in yourself, set your goals high, overcome
challenges, support each other, and take care of yourself. And always remember, your
teachers are not just mentors, but also your guiding lights, shining bright to illuminate your
path to success. So, let us celebrate the spirit of teaching and learning, and may we all
continue to inspire and be inspired by each other. As we honor our teachers today, let us
pledge to carry forward their values, wisdom, teachings, and make them proud in every step
we take. Cheers to a bright future!"

Thank you.
Thank you, dear teachers, for being the architects of our students’ future, and may your
impact continue to shape generations to come

Thank you…
