Paragraph 1: Provide a topic sentence to grab your reader’s attention and begin describing
your topic of interest. Include your first reason from your thesis statement and explain
in detail.

Writing an introduction with your thesis statement: Grab the reader’s attention with a hook or
attention grabber. For example: Pose a question or write something exciting about the topic (and
don’t forget to add your thesis statement!).

Write about your first reason in your thesis statement and provide evidence to further support
your topic of interest (whether your prior knowledge or from a book you read).
