Abstract
This project focuses on developing a smart IoT-based keychain system designed to prevent
key
misplacement and enhance convenience. The system integrates Bluetooth Low Energy
(BLE), a
piezoelectric buzzer, an LED indicator, and a mobile application. Users can locate their
keychain
using the mobile app, which triggers the buzzer and LED for easier detection.
This report details the design, implementation, and testing of the IoT-based keychain,
highlighting its
potential to address everyday problems. Its applications span home, office, and personal
use,
serving as a practical example of IoT in daily life.

Introduction
Losing keys is a common problem, causing stress and delays. Traditional solutions, such as
key
holders or labels, do not offer real-time tracking. This project aims to leverage IoT
technologies to
provide an efficient solution for locating keys, ensuring user convenience and time savings.
Objectives:
1. Enable real-time key location tracking via a mobile app.
2. Provide auditory (buzzer) and visual (LED) alerts for locating the keychain.
3. Ensure low power consumption for prolonged battery life.
System Design and Hardware Components
The IoT-based keychain system integrates three main modules:
1. Tracking Module: BLE module for mobile connectivity.
2. Alert Module: Piezoelectric buzzer and LED for location indication.
3. Power Module: A compact battery pack for portability.
Hardware Components:
1. Microcontroller: ESP32 for BLE functionality.
2. Buzzer: Generates sound alerts when triggered.
3. LED: Provides visual indication.
4. Battery: Rechargeable lithium-ion battery for power supply.

Testing and Results
Testing Procedure:
1. Hardware Testing: Verified BLE connectivity and buzzer/LED functionality.
2. Software Testing: Ensured app compatibility and real-time responsiveness.
Results:
- The system successfully alerted the user with sound and light within a 10-meter range.
- The mobile app accurately displayed the keychain's last location.
Discussion
The IoT-based keychain system successfully addresses the problem of misplaced keys by
integrating reliable IoT components. While it demonstrates high functionality, further
improvements
can be made to enhance accuracy and range.
Applications and Future Improvements
Applications:
1. Personal use for managing keys.
2. Office use for tracking shared or critical keys.
Future Improvements:
1. Expand range by integrating advanced BLE modules.

2. Add a solar-powered charging feature for sustainability.
Conclusion
This project effectively demonstrates how IoT can solve everyday challenges. With further
enhancements, the IoT-based keychain system could become a market-ready product,
significantly
improving key management solutions.
