Sub:- Provision of demonstration cum test bench for Aspiration Type Automatic Smoke/Fire Detection

With Alarm System as per RDSO Spec. No. RDSO12008/CG-04 {Rev.-6) at CRW/HRT.
Vide reference subject, it is to be noted that all AC coaches are fitted with Aspiration Type Automatic
Smoke/Fire Detection with Alarm System as per RDSO Spec. No. RDSO12008/CG-04 {Rev.-6) for early
warning for smoke/fire incidence in IR fully air conditioned coaches. All the coaches being received at
CRW/HRT for POH need through checking of entire subjected system for proper functioning of FSDS
system to ensure safety of passengers and rolling stock and there are many OEMs are involved for
subjected system and it is difficult to maintain the system under AMC owing difficulty in finalizing different
AMCs and cost involved for this purpose CRW/HRT is in requirements for test bench for Aspiration Type
Automatic Smoke/Fire Detection with Alarm System as per RDSO Spec. No. RDSO12008/CG-04 {Rev.-
6) to test the functionalities of different components to ensure proper performance just as fitted in
coach/rake.

The activities to be performed at subject test bench are as given below:-


a. Total functionality test of Fire and Smoke Detection system
b. Testing of PA Module
c. Testing and repair of Multifunctional Card, Interface card
d. Testing and repair of Brake Module and Brake Valve
e. Testing and repair of SMPS, Charging module
f. Testing and repair of Strobe light with Hooter.

The scope of work for “Provision of test bench for Aspiration Type Automatic Smoke/Fire Detection
with Alarm System as per RDSO Spec. No.: RDSO12008/CG-04 {Rev.-6) at CRW/HRT” will include the
following;-

1. Supply, fixing, testing and commissioning of demonstration cum test bench for Aspiration Type
Automatic Smoke/Fire Detection with Alarm System as per RDSO Spec. No. RDSO12008/CG-
04 {Rev.-6) having facility to test each component fitted with system individually & should have
separate test point to test each components separately and also complete system.

3. Provision for electrical supply required for test bench from nearest available source.
4. Provision for pneumatic pipeline for requirement of air supply for test bench
5. Fabrication of Demonstration cum test bench platform with dimension (7 feet height X 6 feet
length x 3 feet width) with inbuilt shelves for storage of tools, components and accessories and
dimension for fixing of equipment of test bench over top of table (4 feet height x 6 feet length x
1.5 feet depth)

6. Complete test area will be covered with transparent wall with lighting arrangement to provide
aesthetic look.

As the work pertaining safety and in turn quality and quantity of POH at CRW/HRT, It may be
carried out urgently to improve quality of POH and thus in turn safe running of trains.
