5 Function Generator (0 – 20) MHz
6 Capacitors 0.01 µF 2
7 Elvis Kit - 1
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:
PROCEDURE:
a.) Astable Multivibrator:
1. Connect the circuit as per the circuit diagram.
2. Switch on the supply and note down the output waveform at pin No. 3 from
the CRO
3. Draw the output waveform on a graph sheet.
4. Verify the theoretical and practical time periods.
5. The theoretical time period is given by,
Tp=0.693(Ra + Rb)C
b.)Monostable Multivibrator:
1. Connect the circuit as per the circuit diagram.
2. Give a square wave input as a trigger to pin No. 2.
3. Switch on the power supply.
4. Note down the output waveform at pin No. 3.
5. Calculate the ON and OFF time periods and verify with the theoretical
values.
6. 1.1 RC gives the theoretical time period.
7. Repeat the above procedure for different values of R.
T=1.1⋅RC
DESIGN EXPERIMENT:(SPECIFICATIONS)

LAB QUESTIONS:
INFERENCE:
The experiments demonstrate the versatility of multivibrators and timers
in generating and modulating signals. The astable multivibrator effectively produces pulse
trains for pulse position modulation. The reset function is essential for initializing circuits to
a stable state, ensuring reliable operation. Monostable multivibrators show predictable
timing behavior based on T=1.1RC, while astable multivibrators confirm the dependence of
oscillation frequency on component values. These findings emphasize the importance of
component selection in designing reliable timing and modulation circuits.
RESULT :
From this experiment,we have completed the astable and monostable
multivibrators and have found the time period to be:
1.Astable Multivibrator:
2.Monostable Multivibrator:
